I say lets not just boycott Aruba but boycott the counties that support Aruba (Holland ect...) if we hurt them to in turn they will end up having to hurt Aruba more.

But what is wrong with you people?
Aruba is still the safest destination in the Caribbean. Less than 2 murders per 100.000 inhabitants per year is a statistic that any country could be proud of. Someone say "Go to Hawaii". Well, just check the crime numbers there and easily goes well beyond tenfold of Aruba's. Just because no evidence could be turned to prosecute any of the suspects, it doesn't mean lack of commitment. And I would like to remember you that americans were involved since the beginning, both to help (FBI) and to blunder (american media, private individuals an so on).

Don't complain about the piece of grass in someone else's eye and better watch for the pole in your own eyes.

Only an idiot would make such a statement! You'd punish 100,000 good people to get even with 3 cops and 4 government officials? You obviously have no concept of the dynamics of the relationship between the Netherlands and Aruba. Try read some recent world history before writing anything that makes you look so incredibly stupid!

Decent language is appreciated.....

We should all give it a rest. The island is a safe place and still one of the most frequent visited tourist destinations. People there respect their visitors and treat them very nice. Ask all the frequent visitors. History makes them dutch but they think just like americans. They have suffered for a missing girl. But face it... would you let your child go alone with three unknown strangers? Won't you also blame the chaperones? I don't think the island and indeed the incompetent policce officers are to blame for that....

We've been to Aruba every year for the last 17 years. Not once have we ever had any problems. The downtown and the beaches are all safe, safe, safe. We leave our valuables in our beach bag under our umbrella while we're swimming in the ocean and never has something come up missing. We go downtown for dinner, dancing and black jack and we have never had to deal with unpleasant people (beggars, thugs, etc.). The U.S. media has really run over an island full of nice people and a fantastic vacation spot in order to increase their viewership. Do we see the story on the news today? No, because the media doesn't care about Natalee.
One high profile missing person and we have people wanting to bring the entire island and related countries to their knees? Over reacting at its best, if you ask me. I'd be curious to hear how Alisha B feels about the fact that Birmingham, AL is the 10th most dangerous city in the U.S. http://www.morganquitno.com/cit05pop.htm#25
Would banning Birmingham fix the problem? Hardly.

That's a very. very good point about the chapperones. That should make all of us realize our children are not safe just because they are "supposed" to have chapperones.

Let's boycott Alabama. I've heard they have crime there. Some unsolved murders. Remember when they hung blacks from the trees? They stopped doing that, didn't they?
