albanians dating people who arent albanian

my friend is dating an albainian guy, she isnt albanian. they have been together for nearly 2 years and she hasnt mett him family. his mother is albanian and was married to an italian then got divorced and is now with an albanian man.
my friends boyfriend says that she cant meet his mother because it is there culter to not introduce there girlfriend to there mother unless they are engaged to be married.
its been 2 years and she doesnt know anymore then that and he wont tell her anything.
so i just wanted some insight to pass on
is it a normal thing for an albanian guy to keep his girlfriend of 2 years from meeting his mother if they arent engaged?
any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Yeah - my husband wouldn't say a word to his mother about me until we decided to move in together and get engaged - then he sent me over there to meet them. I couldn't believe they had never met any of his girlfriends before, never even seen any, or been told about them

that is not the case for every albanian... personally i did not introduce any of my girlfriends to my parents because it was not a steady relationship... the one girl that i was going out for more than 6 months i told my parents about her and introduced her to them... so not every albanian behaves that way... I also know that my cousin introduced all his girlfriends to his parents and even brought them home... so this all depends on the person and has very little to do with the albanian culture...

If your albanian boyfriend is from a place (mountain) over 2000m chances are that his mentality is mediaeval. Regarding everything not just dating.
You can tell on a first date. Ask him about his background. If there are over 5 brothers and sisters...run.
Some of that has to do with islamic way of treating women

I am Albanian and grew up in Greece. They respect us and we do too. We grew up together. I have been together with my boyfriend since dimotiko (a greek school). we were 7 years old. There are many unloved haters here. I hope you find a love too! Pats fat!
