I am impressed by the responses that appear to be from Haitians in this Commentary.
They are of a far higher caliber and level of tolerance and understanding than the majority of those from my fellow Americans.
In general I am usually shamed and embarrassed by American's ignorance, hate, racism and intolerant idiocy.
My respect and admiration to you, as well as my hopes for a safer, healthier and more prosperous Haiti in the new millenium.
I can only hope that the vicious commentary so often read in these forums is just cowardly anonymous venting and not the norm of our fine citizens.
"tolerance and understanding does not come from ones race, It comes from up bringing, education and most of all, love for our neighbours and you my freind have proven that.

Spirit Airlines will surely benefit from a recovering Haiti economy and looking ahead opportunistically to the shimmering hope of increased tourism.
What will be their financial profit results to the cent?
Because of our economic deplorable condition we have to play, sing and dance with their exploiting drum beat.
Would that bring dramatic growth in tourism arrivals?
What are their thoughts on public safety?
Personally I call for an HPA that will stood for the “Haiti People’s Airline”.
that will offer us what we want: comfort, convenience, value, and something more, that friendly Haitian pretty Stewardess faces that comes from the Islands, and from the heart.
Let us spread our own wings…
I say thanks! But no thanks…
Yeah! i agree with you. But until then, sit back, relax, stay quiet and let professional show you the way. You might learn something on the way!!!

Wow, I felt like I was at a ping pong match. Interesting and stimulating and good thing there is free speech!
I too would like to see Preval take a stand and take the lead. It is something he needs to do soon. Right now is the time to trust that he can take the steps needed to prove that he is capable.

The only experience I have with Preval pass was on his first turn in office, he was sitting under a almond tree on the shore of Mont-Rouis drinking a beer, while over 300 people were drowning coming from the island of La Gonave on a ferry that sank. His visit came to a fast ending when the people noticed that nothing was being done to save theire loved ones, started to throw rocks and sea shells at him and calling him Coco Rat! If I never saw anything come out of his govertment! I atleast saw how fast he can run. I really do not know who voted for him in haiti but can truly say; it was not the people of Mont-Rouis or surounding area. All I can think about is; that if he could not direct an emergency measure for 300 people, how can he do it now with 8 million? "It is a sad thought! that Duvalier still has hopes to coming back to haiti and when we see and think of all the blood that has littered the streets in the pass 20 yrs. That hope could turn into a reality,

Zabul,,months later and still seeing people surface, is a hard thing for me to ever forget. As the sun went down, the smell of flesh baking in the hot sun and the dozens of bodies lying on the shore as though they were sculptures that someone had placed there, was hard to imagine that a few hours before, they were mothers, fathers and freinds. One man had lost his wife and eight children and another was telling me! that his wife and two yr. old son was standing beside him when they fell over board, he was the only one to surface. As the months went by, the memory of the ferry was never forgotten, The beaches were empty of its usual visitors, Mulin Sur Mer became a ghost town, Club Med was having problems keeping theire french tourist happy when every few days a body would surface and float on to there shore, The market ladies were feeling the pinch of not being able to sell to the bus loads of beach comers and of course the sell of sea fish was at zero. It seems that even after months gone by, everyone talked about the misery the sinking ferry brouth to there life style and the day Preval was ran out with stones but! seemed that no one mentioned the lose of over 300 people,"how sad!

It is good to remember these who have lost their lives so needlessly. It is good to look at history and try to change what went wrong. I appreciate your insights and views that turn us to the realities. How sad that we seem to get no where from there as we wait for the people in authority to show strength and courage.

That question too has been answered. Some of us hate repeating the same thing over and over again. Besides, if everyone followed your advise, even you would not be in America today. Do you remember?

"Yes beguiled..." Birds of the same feather...

JS Ortega, your comments are either the least intelligent or the most ignorant or both, let alone the fact that they are grammatically and structurally stupid. So, do us all a favor, including yourself, try and say something that shows that you're not an absolute functional illiterate. If you can't, just find a forum where people from the country you emigrated from meet and dump your !@#$%& there.

PS: you still have not told us where you or your parents emigrated from. Are you ashamed of your people? You did tell us a "Creole...deported you", which absolutely laughable. One common denominator you'll find in this forum is that most of us are proud Haitians. So answer the question.
