Sri Lanka is the only country to have a political party exclusively made up of monks not to mention their nine elected members of the parliament. The extremist monk political party has advocated and supported through its parliamentary strength for a military solution to the country's ethnic strife. In a recent interview with Washington Post, the lead monk of the political party sounded like a military general, plefging to do the duty in the battle field too.

Hard line Buddhists monks and JHU are effectively promoting violence, hatred and chauvinism among the Sinhalese Buddhists followers towards other ethnicity and religion in Sri Lanka.

The hard line Buddhists monks(terrorists) who are mostly seen in the Political stage and protests have been the main force driving the hatred against Tamils in Sri Lanka. In their preachings and prayers, they have taught one and only one thing to the Sinhalese majority; "This island belongs to Sinhalese only and everybody else need to be eliminated.".
