Well i heard a few stories but i suppose if you say its untrue then you must be right. And not all UDR men were loyalist biggots, some even played GAA for their local teams in tyrone and there was no problem with that from the locals.

allymac wrote: <quoted text>There was an ira before partition and you're only guessing about the RC church. There was no IRA in 1912. Remember, it was the Ulster Volunteers who started shipping in weapons from Imperial Germany. There was no IRA in 1912 I assure you. As for the IRB they were a micro group, the Irish Volunteers (Pro Home Rule) were much larger. Many of the Irish Volunteers fought alongside the Ulster Volunteers in WW1. Happy enough to fight alongside us, but not to share an All-Ireland parliament with us within the UK?

The Irish Volunteers of Redmond and Carsons UVF fought in WW1 in the hope of furthering their own agendas after the war. They both lost 1000's of men.Who do you think benefitted most after the war and why?

Hard to say who benefitted most after the war. When they returned in 1918 Ireland was a much changed place, if there had have been Home Rule before the war the 1916 Rising wouldn't have even happened, and if it did it wouldn't have gotten any public support. You do know it only started getting widespread support when the British started executing the leaders? If both the Protestants and Catholics from Ireland had have returned from the war to a Home Rule Parliament within the UK where we could all work together I believe things would have been better.

Do you want to have a comprehensive conversation using big words? Ze German spelling of Bigot is Biggot. Sorry if that upsets you "allymac", and fyi i didn't go to a christain brothers school. Listen i'm sorry if you joined the brits because you had nothing else going for you but don't get upset because you're being out witted by real irish men. Its not our fault your parents couldn't bring you up to love your neighbours, if you have insecurities in your life then deal with them personally, bigoted outbursts only show you up for the worthless excuse you are. i'd love to meet you for a coffee or pint and record our conversation, would make for great script material.

My neighbours were all of the Protestant persuasion when I was growing up so no problems there.I joined HM Forces as a career and loved every minute of it.Real Irish men wouldn't murder and maim indiscriminately as terrorist groups do.You seem far more of a bigot than I do.If we ever met up for a coffee or a pint you would have to smooth down any sharp parts on your recorder in case it hurt you when I shoved it up your arse.

Ignore that last comment, it was impulsive. Fair enough about joing the forces but don't dare use aggressive behaviour on a public forum again or i'll get you barred, just because you're a grey doesn't mean the monitors of the site don't know your proxy add. How am i a bigot (Biggot)??? I don't know why i'm wasting my time with you anyway ally, i guess it might because i like to see the brits make fools of themselves over and over again. My sincere apologies to anyone that has been offended by comments on this thread, it was not my intention to provoke or antagonise.
