capitalism wrote: Agree with you, but keep in the mind, half century ago, when many countries got their independence, there were less problem in economic dominance, corruption only happened in certain level, as well as capitalist corporation influence toward a leader. 60+ years after that, we witnessed many countries with natural resources either got benefit or got a problem, many of them on a big problem side. hopefully ET people can learn from this history carefully and able to escape the fate from being resourceful and get a problem on same time, if they can do that, the good future might be with them. <quoted text> True… friend. We must learn from the bad examples. That is why the Mari´s government approved the oil´s law similar to the Norwegian model to avoid corruption. Indonesia left in my country a cultural heritage of corruption and we had the bad examples of many NGOs in TL. But there is no evidence of corruption because actions were taken. The big problem is that people haven’t been educated for citizenship. We need some time for people to learn to be mature and democratic participation. We must build the institutions of the state and the people must learn to respect the state. Here, the Xanana gave a bad example and took the worst decision that a President could have. That is what gave origin to the disrespect of the institutions of the state and led to the crisis. This is what created the division. At that time, Xanana should read his famous speech of reconciliation and show the people that we must respect the government first. The problems should have been solved in another way. But who knows the history of Xanana and the history of its relationship with FRETILIN, easily concludes that Xanana wanted to be prime minister… The rest of the story we already know… and Xanana managed to be prime minister at any cost and the timorese paid the price…

Indie wrote: <quoted text> ok how many? do you any fact? to much talking with out any anwser.. "The transition from Sukarno's Guided Democracy to Suharto's New Order reflected a realignment of the country's political forces. The left had been bloodied and driven from the political stage, and Suharto was determined to ensure that the PKI would never reemerge as a challenge to his authority. Powerful new intelligence bodies were established in the wake of the coup: the Operational Command for the Restoration of Security and Order (Kopkamtib) and the State Intelligence Coordination Agency (Bakin). The PKI had been crushed on the leadership and cadre levels, but an underground movement remained in the villages of parts of Java that was methodically and ruthlessly uprooted by the end of 1968. Around 200,000 persons were detained by the military after the coup: these were divided into three categories depending on their involvement. The most active, Group A, those "directly involved" in the revolt, were sentenced by military courts to death or long terms in prison; Group B, less actively involved, were in many cases sent to prison colonies, such on Buru Island in the Malukus, where they remained under detention, in some cases until 1980; Group C detainees, mostly members of the PKI peasant organization, were generally released from custody.(As late as 1990, four persons were executed for involvement in the coup. Although the delay was explained as due to the length of the judicial appeals process, many observers believed that Suharto wanted to show that the passage of years had not softened his attitude toward communism.)" in http://countrystudies.us/indonesia/22.htm

One thing, you need to update that "minority" in POSO, both side fought in significant equal number, both side suffer almost at a same number as well, and Indonsia official able to brought to justice and execute the person who responsible for it from both side as well, but still sadly, no high ranking individual has been brought to justice like 16 names said by Cornelis Tibo. anyway, both side learn invaluable lesson, like in maluku, right now they back in peace again, but who knows, many stupid people still around. are you attacking Indonesian government or just Indonesian ? for most indonesian your story will more like a shit, because they are the victim, read that PKI history, which said about 1Million, 90% of that number were moslem and javanese, people who didn't understand the politic but became a victim because of their political affiliation, or are you still thinking that PKI victims were the atheist people, or some sort of minority group ? those all said numbers in video were indonesian, from different ethnicity and different religion, majority or minority, all were the victim of political disturbance, but yet, people like you keep saying minority is the victim of other group. you tell me, how you will explain to the world when they start to saying about timorese (not only the gov) being racism, suppressed the minority ? Story like this, Mari Alkatiri, a moslem, was kicked out from the office because of his believe, false story but became a truth right ? Regarding to Hiroaki posts, all these investors list below are all idiot and have done and pay nothing to TL: 1. Portugal (Telecommunication, Hotels, Restuarant etc.) 2. Australian (hotel, car rental, restuarant, Tour Agency, Scuba dive service, Gas and Fuel Supply and Stations) 3. Singapore (Super market, Hotel, services etc. 4. Thailand (Agriculture, Hotel, Restuarant, Electricity, etc.) 5. Malaysia (Restuarants and services) 6. Indonesia (Hotel, restuarant, Bakery, retail Stores ect.) 7. India, Pakistan,(restuarants) 8. China (oil and gas exploration, Hotels, construction etc.) 9. Philippine (Engineering Consultant, Constructions, ect.) 10. New Zealand (tour company, hotel, security guard etc.) 11. South Korea (Hotel, Deep sea habour etc.) There are more than 100 projects have already granted certificate of foreign investmant from the Gov of TL. If we took Hiroaki's comment as a fact, those certificates would be useless and be just a piece of dirty papers.
ALL these investors were called idiot and stupid by Hiroaki. All of them was insulted by her as advantage taker and victims of Dollars there. SORRY THERE IS NO JAPANESE INVESTOR IN THE LIST.!!
