So the one government entity in the Cayman's that offers an apology just happens to be the same one that knows the financial impact tourist dollars (and lack thereof) make on their island.
Wonder if he will get a letter from the local police commander and club owner..... doubt it. |

1 The British Caribbean is well known for its homophobia, both in attitude and the books. A touristic boycott should be organized by gay organizations, and put into effect until these islands realize that their hatred is not only anti-Christian but also primitive, and , one by one, decriminalize same-sex sex. Hurt them were it hurts, since these places depend on tourism for survival. |

2 Check with folks that have been to these places before and get an objective opinion...then book your holiday. All that blue water looks nice in pictures until you deal with the locals, hotels, customs and beaucracy. And learn their language...THEIR LANGUAGE. |

1 If you read the post above, most of us agree. Respect other countries laws and the fact that they were warned. But thank you, Theresa, you have just reinforced with your own words the very reason we, as a community, would support a boycott of your island. We will spend our "tourist dollars" elsewhere and when you complain about revenue not coming in anymore, look back at what you posted today and ask who's fault it really is. |

1 Dear Theresa, It seems that you just opened up about your real feelings about us, gays: You hate us to the point that you want us shot in the face. You wrote KILLED in all caps, and added five exclamation points. You symbolize what most religions are about: hatred, violence and murder. It also signals the level of ignorance of your people about your own society, since according the report it is not illegal for men to kiss. Also, given that it's a normal behavior according not only to biology, psychology and other sciences, there is no reason for us to hide it simply because some people might hate it: check out some of the history of racism and you will see that interracial kisses offended many. They (or you), may that be a minority or a majority; that is irrelevant since in no democracy can the majority's rights oppress the minority. Yes, they could've been killed in other country, but again so could've you, since there you are a woman, and therefore a lesser being with no rights and who should keep silent while men talk. Hey, I have an idea, since you are so outspoken about those paradises: I will buy you a ticket to one of those countries if you promise me to be as outspoken and free. My guess it will be a one-way ticket on Economy and return ticket in the cargo compartment, where your coffin will be treated better that yourself by those so welcoming countries. Think about it: it's a win-win situation: you get to prove your point and try to prove me wrong, and the world will be a better place after you're gone. |

1 The point is that ignorance about what being gay really means exists everywhere, and the rejection that follows that ignorance can be subtle or not. To us, on the receiving end of the hatred (yes, hatred... check out the dictionary), it's an insult that hurts our sense of decency and ethical treatment of people. In this case, one man found it disgusting for two men to kiss, and had an off-duty cop arrest him on the grounds that he was breaking the law. "Funny" thing is, that was a lie. That is what I told you on my previous posting, and you chose to ignore in your reply. There is no law in the Cayman Islands forbidding same-sex couples to kiss. So the whole incident was based on a lie, and followed by another lie, which was the statement that the gay man was not arrested but only taken away. That is called arrest, no matter how hard you try to make it look different afterwards. And it was done by and off-duty cop, who had no right to so. That was also in violation of police procedures, and a clear abuse of power. Your own Tourist Department official made a statement that your island receives countless gay$ and lesbian$ and that there is no such law, which indicates that your country is not as disgusted with us as your posting may lead to think. This was not about a law but the personal feeling of a handful of people who think we are not normal, that our existence goes against nature and God, that we are perverts and sexual abominations. A kiss brings that in the forefront of their minds, and they lied and abused their power to react according to their personal believes. By insisting that the gay man broke the law is to play along with these lies and to perpetuate the ignorance and hatred that characterizes most Christians when it comes to gay people. To you, a quote from your own book. Try to live by it: "Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails." |

1 1. It seems to be important to you, since you keep coming back to a gay news website. So you are lying. What else is there to do with somebody that lies? It seems that this particular sin does not offend you. Even when you try to appear that gays don't bother you. 2. Respect? You deserve none, since your hatred is so intense and active. You have delusions when you think you are breaking news to me by telling me we will never be accepted 100%. By this, it is obvious that you didn't even read my posting: too many words scare you? Too lazy? Not bright enough? 3. I don't fail to see your point. You are the one who fails to see mine. And both failures are consistent with your Christian attitude, which is based on lying when reality escapes you. 4. I have a Master in Theology, and I know that Leviticus is not about sins (against God) abut abominations (social coding). Leviticus says we should be put to death. Do you support the death penalty to gays? That's God's word, and you are supposed to support it, right? Also, you need to apply it to all other abominations, a long list... have you read Leviticus... as a whole? I guess not. 5. My dear bigot, grow up as human being. There is nothing flattering about reverting to Neanderthal forms. |

2 2) For someone with a Master’s degree in Theology love-muffin, it seems that you were too lazy to read the section pointing out where you will spend eternity for committing such acts, send me a post card… 3) There are ex-pats and locals who dislike affection displayed publicly by gays and the gay people who reside there still respect the culture of Cayman. That is so true!“When in Rome, do as the Romans do”. 4) The moral of the story is you don’t need a Master’s Degree to have some respect, grow some guts and stop being so self absorbed Amoeba. It’s not an issue of being educated, it’s simple common sense!!! Post what you want after this, I won’t be reading it….toodles! |

1 For every action there is a reaction, whether good or bad, it’s just the facts of life. I’m sure if people felt strongly about preserving the environment where you’re from and a group of visitors chose to go there and do as they pleased it would be an issue. Regardless if there is no laws in place, it still will create a negative effect just because of what you believe in. The objective is not to cram religion down vacationers throats, it's just a matter of being courteous to others, as you would like to be done. |

1 Your friend did not try to spell out any better than an infant, and you are not shedding any more light than a black hole. I cannot understand how you keep missing the point... Let me explain the problem that originated this blogging as logically as I can for you and your friend to understand: * Fact: A man was arrested-taken into custody by a police officer for kissing his boyfriend in public. * Premise 1: The only reason to arrest someone anywhere in the world is because that someone breaks a law. * Premise 2: There is no law in your islands that forbids two men from kissing in public. 4. Conclusion: There were no legal grounds for the arrest. That should be the end of the argument: no breaking law=no arrest=no news. But for some reason, you people don't understand this basic issue, and instead, you keep repeating the tiresome argument of sensibility. The police is there to enforce the law, not the feelings of a group, regardless of how big it is. Do you understand this? If so, please answer in your posting. |

1 Maybe that statue was not signed off by the Queen and it could have been handled better but the point is, YOU. ARE. NOT. AT. HOME....YOU. WERE. WARNED....RESPECT.PEOPLE'S.CUL TURE. Life's not fair but they are lucky it happened here and not somewhere else. At least they lived to tell the tale. I do not promote voilence but not everyone feels that way. |

1 Oh my God, you are stupider than I thought. You said at first that you understood... and then go with the childish joke about the applause, and go back to missing the point, and this time with CAPS!!! as if screaming will make true what you're saying. At least at the end you truly confess your violent Christian feelings, although you mask it well. I guess that is OK since because of trash like you I hate your kind, and hope that the next hurricane wipes your kind off this earth. Peace out. And review my postings later on so you can learn a little bit of wisdom and respect. |
