LIKE SO many other victims of Ethiopia's hunger crisis, Usheto Beriso weighs only half what he should. He is always cold, even when swaddled in a blanket. His limbs are stick-thin.
But Usheto is not the typical face of Ethiopia's chronic food problems, the scrawny baby or the ailing toddler. He is aged 55, and among a growing number of adults and older children hit by severe hunger after poor rains and crop failure in southernADVERTISEMENTEthiopia, health workers say.
"To see adults in this condition, it's a very serious situation," said nurse Mieke Steenssens, a volunteer with Doctors Without Borders, as she registered 5'4" Usheto's weight at just 73lb (5¼st).
Warnings about the worsening situation in Ethiopia prompted the British government to send an extra £10 million in aid to the country, the International Development secretary, Douglas Alexander, has announced. It follows £5 million approved last month.

the evil eritreans have no place to live in the world ecxept the hel eritrea. i take the egypt deportation as evil prevention from thier nation. this can show us how much the egyption are far sighted and long planing people. they really care about thier nation. this ppl are evil b/se after the start eating three times a day in egypt they would start contributing money and be spies if eritrea tries to invade egypt like what they did in ethiopia,and i don't believe eritrea can't try. i can conclude the egypt get lesson from ethiopia

ok, even with this crisis in egypt egpytians, sudanis, and all arabs have soo much love and respect for eritreans they are hardworking honest people not like the dumb lazy dirty hiv/aids prostitute and hungry ethiopians where they have no shame and beg america for milllions of dollars every year and still people are poor. their government meles chenawi and tplf monkeys take the money for themselves and thousands are starving and diing in AIDS ababa..they are running out of time soon the ethiopians will have to start eating each other because their is no food. stupid agames never learn. they must be on some serious crack if they think they can defeat somalia AND eritrea at the same time.

Two opposite things . If you hate Shabia or ELF you hate the leaders as well. I don't think you know Melles Very well. He is a brain not only for Ethiopia but for Africa in general.He has more respect and place in G8. Have you watched the news latley ?Any way if you really hate Shabia please hate them with passion.
