500,000 sikhs gathered at the sarbat khalsa of '86 to declare Khalsa rule despite a curfew by the state. Its so rediculous to suggest that very few sikhs supported the idea of khalistan. Obviously, with time the support wained due to intelligence agencies infiltration and defamation of militant leaders. We just couldn't stick together as we did prior to 84. that was the sole reason for the failure. Now people cant be arsed with freedom cuz theyr too busy making money.

We need to get the politics out of our Gurdwaras before even thinking of the possibility of making a Sikh homeland -- one that is free of corruption, two-facedness, etc. We then need to get our youth involved in the Gurdwara's.

We have to get to point A before point B.

And right now, we really need a renewal of faith in Sikhi across the globe.

You've stated some really good points. Its interesting how the irony of "Pakistan screwing the Khalistani movement over in 1984" exists.

There was just so much underground information that people were unaware at that time. Even Sant Jarnail Singh Ji Bhindrawale's actions and background history played a big role in the inevitable fall of the movement; he was Indira Gandhi's right hand man and we he did actually realize alligning with the COngress party was anti-Sikh in nature, he decided to hide in the Harmandir Sahib of all places. With all respect to him, I really do look up to him for his positive traits as a leader, there was some level of leadership quality that lacked with him running the whole show, namely his lack of education and past political involvements.

Its all just so complicated and hard to understand...

We [as Gursikhs] don't even have proper control over Punjab with the Congress Party constantly trying to take over and control us.

Only then, will Sikhs be able to do something...and that "something" is for our up and coming generations of Sikhs to unfold and build on.
