They close or were they closed? China is notorious for suppression, whether it be Falun or the heavy hand in Tibet. It really doesn't matter, Obama will not take issue for fear of a call on all those Treasury notes or Wal-Mart losing business.

What do you know about Fa Lun Kung? How many people in the China mainland support it? Is it really a religious group? How come a religion group gets engaged so much in politics? Beijing banned Fa Lun Gung. But Fa Lun Gung is not banned in Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macau and Southeast Asia. Taiwan's President Ma Ying Jeou supports Fa Lun Gung which is enemy's (Beijing's) enemy. Fa Lun Gung is also allowed to hang big anti-communist posters and banners in Hong Kong Kowloon Railway Terminus which I pass by every morning. It does the same in Macau's Hong Kong-Macau Ferry Terminus. But how come Fa Lun Gung does not have too many followers in Hong Kong, Taiwan, Macau and Southeast Asia? In these places, we get many Bhudist followers - of traditional Bhudism. Let me tell you one thing, just before the reunion of Hong Kong with the mainland (when HK was still under British rule), Fa Lun Gung followers surrounded a traditional Bhudist temple in Tsuen Wan, the New Territories. How come they can do that? We get freedom of religion here, but Fa Lun Gung has no right to bother other Bhudist group. So our Bhudist monks/nuns and followers do not like Fa Lun Gung at all. Despite Fa Lun Gung's efforts to recruit followers here, we ignore it! Please ponder why? Please study the issues, but don't rely on biased reports of the west.

Have you ever lived in China or are you just expressing an opinion that is based on media prejudices? But if you really want to do something about human rights then why don't you look at the plight of the Australian Aboriginal people in their own land.

They were almost certainly closed temporarily for security reasons - I know the biggest one currently has troops on 24 hour guard to prevent it being burnt down by Hans seeking revenge.

Last night CCTV9 showed the largest of the mosques with troops guarding it and stated that it had been closed for security reasons. No reason not to believe it.

Err, not my government and not my country.

Chinese people do not typically live off welfare, abuse drugs and alchohol and live the short lives of Aboriginals. So sorry, your guarantee is worthless especially as it seems fairly obvious that you have no personal experience of China.

Oh, and by most people's standards, China is anything but a pathetic nation for all her faults.

He is paid to defend the CCP regime, and does it unfailingly. Do not take his comments seriously, they are only another shabby part of the Chinese Communist Party's "Public Guidance" (ie. propaganda) campaigns.

You are right. CCP China is indeed a hell-hole for anyone who questions the CCP masters, seeks justice, or values the truth.

But good, docile, obedient slaves (the majority of Han)are treated somewhat better by the CCP; more like livestock that actually is worth something, but of course it is still owned, sold, or slaughtered as the CCP needs.

To be fair to the Chinese, they do have freedom and rights otherwise every body would be in jail. For me it s a matter of degree. How much freedom and how much democracy ..and compared to what??

If I am not mistaken, in Australia the government force people to go to vote. If that is true then the Aussies are not free.

Yes you are right inhuman! It is immediately obvious to me now that the life span of a Tibetan minority group being extended by about 20 years is a travesty of human rights in comparrison with the Australian Aboriginal people being FREE to shorten their lives by drinking themselves into oblivion should not go unnoticed as a prime example of how deprived the Chinese peoples are. One has to assume the drinking is because they are in a party mood about the wonderful lives that they lead.

Your bigotry and your ignorance about both China and Australia do you great credit.

Just like in Australia, the way you inhuman force the Aborigines and now the Indians, bashed them and mainly murder them because of freedom.

u guys say fight for watever human rights and freedom, right now no one is stopping them from leaving china to head to turkey or anywhere, so the doors are just wide open for them to leave then. Wat is the point for these uighurs to go rioting and kill innocent Han bystanders.

Those who are saying Uighurs and suppressed should know that u guys are supporting islam terrorists and being racist at the same time supporting the killing of human lives, so by right u guys have no say to anything to human rights or freedom.
