PM no to Amritsar seat, Rajesh Khanna may contest

In my opinion Mr. Khanna should refuse to contest the election. During 1991-96 he had most gracefully completed his tenure as Hon'ble Member of Parliament, with the certificate of Mr. Clean. But his attachment with politics has detached his links with film inudstry to a great extent. Now he is again busy with some new venture. So it will be nice for him not to accept the said contest. However, the final decision will be his personal decision.

It has very rightly said in the said news article that he is still a household name. It is so because he is still adorable due to his high status performance in all time classic films. But today we want he should bring more and more dynamic versatility in his mature performance. So he should not contest the election.

I just saw a dvd of Jaana and regret that he has lost his looks.Enough of films for him.Let him keep himself busy as a great lawmaker.He must contest and try his best to win.

Though I have not seen the complete film Jana but I saw some photographs of this film via net, besides some other photographs of donating 1 crore Golden Trophy and some other recent events. I think that he has far better looks than Amitabh. Do not compare his looks with his young age. That was really unparallel.

The news article regarding consideration of the name of Mr. Khanna by the High command of Ruling party for contesting election from Amritsar constituency clearly reflects that in spite of his complete cut-off with media world, still he is the most significant household name of the nation. This shows that ultimately the genuine merit brings real status; not by cheap self promotion propaganda like Amitabh.

we are all great fans of kaka but we like other performers too.
we would also like to hear some serious ideas from you re rajesh's future either in films or politics instead of your parroting the same chamchagiri lines all the time.

The dvds of jaana are available in Hongkong and the USA. I saw the film recently.
The movie is a low budget film which is obvious from the production values.The hero who is shahrukh mirzas son is a disaster with zero leading man potential.he is the same guy who shot his mouth off re rajesh.the heroine is ok...typical modern beauty. zeenat looks old and something is wrong with her eyes..a far cry from sss days but age takes its toll.performed ok.
Now re rajesh?
Frankly , he looks too old for his age which is a spry 64 when he filmed the movie.his movements are jerky and he is embarassing to watch in the initial stages.he is good in the last half hour and even sings part of a song, where he is good as ever.

but the sad fact is that he is hard on the eyes for a major part of the movie and his costume is silly ..the short pants and bomber jackets he wears wouldnt even suit a kid 1/4 th his age. the only time he has a decent costume is when he sings the last song praying for the heros recovery.
however , he has the best line in the film when he tells the chocolate hero-jeetna seekho bete !!
there is fire in that line from the old lion even though his face has been ravaged by time, his voice is golden as ever.
he also seems to have lost some teeth as he makes those movements that people do when they have had a few teeth pulled out.

anyways, he must not act in future without tons of appropriate makeup, must wear sober suits-preferably in black - and ask for great dialogues because , sadly, the only part of rajesh thats still aflame is his voice!

in retrospect even though he was the best thing in an otherwise dull film , parliament is best for him at this stage.

The reason behind putting the name of Amit is that the news about Rajesh Khanna's probable contesting election from Amritsar is first time appeared in this website. Otherwise we have not found this news in any local news paper in our city or via cable T.V. news, etc. Whereas Amit's every irrelevant news always appear in Sahara, Aaj Tak type news channel or local news papers all the time. This shows self promotion cheap strategy. Because today no news appears via media until somebody is willing to publicise the same.

You are right anaad.he must head back to parliament.
he is being called.physically he has gone downhill.
this is a lucky break for him and an honour. I say the same as you.
he can fix the physical but he dosen't listen as he should go on a strict regime even if he has been unwell there are natural rejuvenating treatments.
more care of the body and physical is necessary for parliament also.

Forget movies he has been called and he will be required to "act" in parliament. Khanna will have the edge as he is a real actor and the rest have no talent but do it anyway. Rajesh Khanna never faked anything.

Could you pl request kakaji to FIRE his current PRO and immediately get a new person who can get him prominent and positive stories in Times of india,HT,ET,and other prominent dailies, tabloids,TV etc. He needs to be very visible right from today in a very positive way and must make an effort to LOOK GOOD and stylish in public in order to reconnect with the new generation of voters.Dont forget ,Navjyot Sidhu is very very visible and perhaps in a better position to vibe with youngsters due to cricket etc.

I second what anaad has said. Get a shave and and a suit please. Look nice and not sloppy.You are young at heart and carry youth within you so show it on the outside please to connect with younger voters.
