The Irish government had "rock solid evidence" Gerry Adams was a senior member of the IRA as recently as five years ago, according to the latest US diplomatic cables released by WikiLeaks.
“Captain Yesterday is Past. ”
Since: Oct 10
Hilarious, nothing but claims on the part of Bertie Ahern. Note this:
"Mr Kenny's cable referred to a meeting with a senior Irish government official which focused on then Irish prime minister Bertie Ahern's concerns about the peace process.
The ambassador recorded:'He said that the GOI (government of Ireland) does have 'rock solid evidence' that Gerry Adams and Martin McGuinness are members of the IRA military command and for that reason, the Taoiseach is certain they would have known in advance of the robbery.' "
"A senior government official..."
Claims of "rock solid evidence..."
"They would have known...."
What a joke. Of course Gerry Adams was an IRA commander, but claiming that this meant the IRA performed the robbery or that Adams or McGuinness know of it is absurd. There is absolutely zero proof of either claim.
