Taiwan is truly Chinese territory, since 1945.
From 1895 until 1945, Japan controlled Taiwan
under the name of FORMOSA! Japan "returned" Formosa/Taiwan
after Japan was defeated in 1945 at the end of World War
Two.
However, there are two separate social, economic,
and political systems. This will take years and decades
to unify.
It is still a Nationalist versus Communist CIVIL WAR!!

ok, who had the control over the FORMOSA before 1895 then?
The island DID not return to China after the Japanese surrender (China nor any country defeated Japan, i expect you have this information), but rather under the UN supervision, if i can remember.
The point is, FORMOSA had never returned to China at all....by your argument, Japan has more sovergnity over Taiwan then either Taiwan or China.
Taiwan should belong to Japan.

Taiwan should belong to Japan. Before 1895, Taiwan was a province of Qing dynasty China. Before that, a part of Fujian province on the mainland.
