Two hundred thousand clergy were systematically slain by Bolsheviks in a horrific cycle of crucifixions, scalpings and bestial tortures.
In Bolshevik Russia, clergymen, monks, nuns were crucified by the Bolsheviks onto doors to the sanctuaries in churches and shot in the basements of the CHEKA [secret police]. Bolsheviks scalped, strangled, drowned and submitted clergy to other bestial tortures, such as skinning alive, and disembowelment while alive.
Bolshevik murderers turned Christian priests into columns of ice in winter... but that's not all, there were crucifixions ...
After the initial slaughter of clergy by Lenin and Trotsky and the Bolsheviks after 1917, the persecution peaked under Stalin in 1937, when in that year alone 136,900 Orthodox clergy were arrested of whom 85,300 were shot. In 1938, 28,300 were arrested, of whom 21,500 were shot.
In 1945, Stalin also ordered the complete destruction of the five million strong Ukrainian Byzantine Catholic Church of western Ukraine. All bishops were sent to labour camps, churches were taken over by the Orthodox Church and all clergy either forced to join the Orthodox Church, or forced into interior exile or shot.
It is not likely that any of the hundreds of thousands of Bolshevik Russia's CHEKA/ NKVD/KGB secret police criminals will ever be brought to trial.
Given Putinist denials, one even wonders whether this unsurpassed Christian martyrology will ever be recorded in more than the broadest outlines.
This is what the Russian Orthodox Church, and every Christian in the world, should be concerned about...Putin's continuing cover up of Bolshevik crime.
