Another Afghan police attack kills 2 US troops

Full story: WSET-TV Lynchburg

A newly recruited Afghan village policeman opened fire on his American allies on Friday, killing two U.S. service members minutes after they handed him his official weapon in an inauguration ceremony. It was the latest in a disturbing string of attacks by Afghan security forces on the international troops training them.

Later Friday, an Afghan soldier turned his gun on foreign troops in another part of the country and wounded two of them, a spokesman for the NATO coalition said.

If Obama did not still have us over there this could not happen. If he gets us out in 2014 do you really believe it is going to be any different over there than if he pulled us out now. This is just like Viet Nam we wanted to end it but it did not end until we said that is it we are leaving and left. Then things went on to be what they were going to be anyway.

The same thing applies here, if the in power Afghan government can not hold out against the insurgents now they will not be able to in 2014.

I know people don't like listening to history but here is what happened to them last time. The Russians finally had enough and left. After they left the in power government they left behind maintained power and in fact its military performed better than it did under Russian military help. Even after the Russians left it stayed in power until the Yelsin government quit supporting it.

The Afghans have experience with forign powers leaving, the Russians just left in the dead of winter and there is no reason we could not do the same.

We have problems at home we can't pay for (medicare) so we have no business wasting money and lives in Afghanistan.

Bring the troops home now.

A-stan is a waste of our good people .

Obama got trapped by Kerry to focus on A-stan so as to not call the Dems 'Cut n' run' pertaining to Iraq.

Now is the time to ' Cut n' run ' Mr. President as our troops are being slaughtered by so called allies.

The Afghans are never going to change. Turmoil has been in existence there forever and is part of them. Our troops need to come now! Waiting until 2014 only guarantees more injured and deaths of our own.

We are still there because Obama is not sure if it would benefit him politically to leave. US troops die while he waits.
