Sri Lanka pressed on Tamil devolution plan By Munza Mushtaq COLOMBO - A pledge by Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa that sweeping powers will be granted to Tamil communities in the North and East provinces has raised hopes that Colombo is finally getting serious in addressing the country's long-running ethnic divisions.
