TOTAL SCAM!!! I paid $700 for both of my daughters to take head shots with their photographer (they force you to use their own guy.) Terrible photos, I could have gotten better quality at Wal-Mart for $11.99. No calls, nothing but a $700 bill. Deborah says she's won pageants, but I don't see how that is possible. Other mothers I have spoken with have similar stories. I have since signed my girls up with Heery Casting in Philly. It was free and they booked my girls as movie extras and auditioned my oldest daughter for a commercial.

SCAM questions. what are they casting for? what show or commercial? I guarantee if you go, you'll get "casted". They have "various" spots. And oh wait, they see you in person. and select you... but now they need photos of you... because they aren't casting anything. They are merely a crappy agency that 'might' send your photo out. They only exist because they insist you purchase photos to get the job you are already got casted for... huh?. SCAM ppl. please save your money. to the lady with 2 kids.. yea, they 'casted' both. they would probably 'cast' you too. got an extra $350 to spend?

Haha, it's too easy on this website to create a name and add a review. Who knows, Deborah L Keen could have typed up her own positive reviews with a different name and responded back to them acting like someone else posted them. ANYONE could write a positive review. ANYONE could write a negative review. ANYONE could defend themselves with a juicy five paragraph essay. In the end, it don't mean a thing! Shucks, Mrs. Keen probably makes a new account and writes her own negative reviews, just cause she's bored and the only proof she has is by defending herself.
Who knows, maybe I'm wrong, maybe I'm right. Maybe she's wrong, maybe she's right. But honestly Mrs. Keen, it seems like you spend too much time on the internet posting here! You're wasting your time and I'm wasting my time. But here's my two cents. If you are truly a LEGIT company ditch this stupid review forum YOU created THEN get on with business! Instead of responding to us haters, SHOW US THE SUCCESS. Videos, models, anything. The Facebook fan page is silly too, majority of the posts are from people who didn't get their book, or they haven't heard from your "agency" in years!
Ranting on the internet in order to so called 'back up' your company is NOT the way to go.
Enough of my essay here's my review: unprofessional scammers
PS: Ya'll are quite the photo millers. ;)

all the people defending Keen, are probably Deborah Keen herself posting with different names. you can tell by the similarities language and in how deborah types and how the defenders type too. at the casting call she was obnoxious in trying to make it seem like her company wasn't a scam. shes not in the modelling industry, shes in the industry of trickery! dont give any money up, a legit agency wouldnt require you to pay for ANYTHING. of course theyre asking you to take 400 dollar photographs, they have nothing to lose.

People who say that the agency is a scam are complete thugs with no self esteem. What's stopping you from doing your research about the company instead of posting ridiculous comments on Topix. If you have a problem, why not do your research? It's really not hard. Either you people are extremely lazy or really stupid. I mean come on now. And if you have any further questions after you have conducted research, why don't you ask the owner yourselves? The Keen Agency a scam? No. People on Topix accusing this modeling agency a scam insecure? Yes. They are the ones who are the bullies. Not the owner. Get a life people. You really have that much time on your hands to post ridiculous comments like those? Give me a break.

Scared of being held liable for your false statements which I have already contacted our corporate attorney to being the process of finding out your name to take legal action against you? Scared? Your email does not even deserve an educated response as I do know that intelligent persons would not bother to pay attention to such ridiculousness. Very Truly Yours, Deborah L. Keen CEO The Keen Agency,Inc. That user's name was "ScammedAndScarred". .. there's a difference between the words "scared" and "scarred". And instead of cordially apologizing to someone, who trusted you, who feels scammed -- and trying to do something to mend that, you immaturely and unprofessionally accuse them of being afraid and hiding behind their computer. That person is not the only one calling your agency a scam on the internet, and if you're not a scam, CLEARLY you are doing something wrong to consistently be accused. Also, an intelligent reader will also recognize that these comments are potentially entirely anonymous and not connected to a personal e-mail account for your attorneys to access. If that were a serious threat, I'd imagine that ScammedAndScarred's comment would've been removed by now...

My daughter was selected and after shelling out $349 for her photos, she was called for ONLY ONE audition for a hair show and when she arrived, she was quickly pulled away because they were not looking for african american girls. This agency scammed my husband and I from coughing up the money for her photos and she never received another prospective call. This is a warning for Norwalk, CT to New York residents - BEWARE!!! BE VERY AWARE!!! And to see how offended the CEO of the agency is on these posting should be a BIGGER RED FLAG. To the Keen Agency - Thanks for nothing!!! This is a lesson learned and I'm definitely going to stick to the saying "If they are interested in your child, you should not have to pay not even $1.

Deborah, I do find your willingness to answer any such questions in this open forum refreshing and lends you credibility. That said, I am curious about you bringing in a photographer and charging your new clients a "sitting fee" for their portfolio. I was at your open call last evening in Clarks Summit. AS you suggested I did my homework and researched modeling agencies and sitting fees and portfolios. Can you please comment on the following article I found while doing research? http://modelsadvocate.com/model-talent-agency... Thank you.

Ems mom wrote: My daughter went to an open call and was selected. My husband was shocked by the cost of the sitting fees; I was not. Having lived in NYC, Boston and Seattle, I can tell you that $349.00 is very reasonable. My daughter had pictures taken for ballet auditions by a NYC photographer, who also does model shots, and he charged $650, gave us 4 pictures, and owns the rights to her photos. Wow sounds like we all should be complaining on topix about the photographers being a ripoff and a scam. For $650.00 I'd demand the rights to those pictures and demand a photoghwr from vogue. You got so ripped off. There is no excuse for that price for a head shot/modeling photos. It's not like he had to purchase film to develope it. Why do people pay these leeches? They are enabling this problem. If somebody told me I would have to pay 350.00 for pictures to be a model I think I'd take it as a sign that I ain't the model type if it costs that muh to make me loook good enough to sell as a model.

To be fair to Keen... She says she wants 100 photos for her file. She dosnt require them from her photographer. Unless she dosnt like them, then you have to get more from her guy or someone else.(that's the part that could get catchy... You can't tell me in 100 shots you can't find 3 suitible pictures)
