Arena likely to stay under same management

There are two teams that play at the Tsongas arena; if the city is losing money, they should figure out what the break-even point is per game; it wasn't that long ago that quotes for "ice-time" per hour detailed an arena's bottom line.

I do not know why the city ever entered into the entertainment business anyway.This arena was doomed from the start. I think what the city should do is call Dick Lepine Real Estate and have him put a for sale sign on it. Complete waste of money and poorly run.

Instead of having negative comments regarding the hockey team, the city manager may consider the following options to increase the revenue for the arean as other cities have done to offset costs of their areana:

1) find a sponsor that will pay a fee to have the arena named for them
2) Support the hockey team so as to increase attendance and therefore, revenue to the arena
3) does the city manager have a plan to increase the revenue of the arena if the hockey team leaves - such as feasability plan - will residents attend concerts on the weekday - not very likely when students have school and adults have work
4) has the city increased revenue during the spring & summer when the hockey team is NOT utilizing the the arena

I would like to see a plan that supports the hockey in arena during the short span that they utitlize (1/2 a year) and a plan to increase the revenue through other efforts by the city during the Spring, Summer and early Fall.
