Your statement says it all; "robbed of HIS gold." That is exactly why he did not win. Plushenko thought it was a given that he would win. He (and his coach) did not take into consideration that the judging rules have changed. He did not modify his routine to maximize his points under the current judging rules. He can run his mouth all he wants about want should be. If he wants rule changes, then work positively to get the changes. In the meantime, he must live withing the current judging rules. Keep in mind that the current judging system was put in place because of Russia. How perfectly ironic.

And furthermore:

You mention that the judges were blind to Pluchenko's talent. It is not his talent that they are judging. It is his performance. It is crystal clear that Plushenko is talented. That is not the point. The point is his routine did not take into consideration the judging rules. All he had to do was skate clean (which he didn't) and put more jumps into the second half (which he didn't). That is not a case of the judges being blind. That's just the facts. If Plushenko wants quads mandatory, he should work to get the rules changed. In the meantime, he needs architect his program to meet the rules as they are currently. This is not a talent question at all.

And further furthermore:

Plushenko's coach was running his mouth about how it was criminal.

“This is nonsense,” Mishin told Yahoo! Sports.“It is wrong. It is criminal. How can it be like this? They are killing figure skating and taking it back 20 years. They have robbed him of his destiny.

“There is nothing we can do but we want to know what happened because this is not right. We will investigate. Someone needs to explain to me how this is possible. I cannot believe it.”

Maybe Mishin should explain how, as Plushenko's coach, he could allow his skater to ignore the current judging structure. As a coach, he should have made Plushenko backload his jumps to get the 10% credit. That is a no brainer. Unfortunately, Mishin was so focused on Plushenko's "destiny", he did not use his brain. It is Mishin who should be investigated. It is Mishin who has some explaining to do.

Plusheko had the quad, but the quad is not the most important thing in the world. Had the REST of his program been stronger, then yes, he would have won, but Evans program was strongest OVERALL. Plushenko needed more difficult choreography, needed to clean up his jumps, and needed to put more jumps later on in his program in the bonus zone. And artistry has never been his strong point either. Evans programs on the other hand, what can you really complain about? Except yes, he did not have a quad, but a quad is not mandatory, and you don't have to have it to have a spectacular program.

It's plain and simple: If your program couldn't really be and cleaner, or more difficuly, and the only thing you don't have is a quad, and there's a guy on the other side of the coin who could have had a cleaner, more difficult program, but DID have the quad, it's totally fair, and within reason that the first guys could very deservingly win.

You really have stated things in a nutshell. thank you for your in bias comments. That's how the judges saw it, if Plushenko and his fans could see it, that was be amazing. That is wishing thinking; might add.

When people are obsessed with their ownselves, it is very hard to see things on a personal level. Mishin and many others Russian coaches and/or athletes are just that way. All others countries are vincible to them. They have a falsely invicible attitudes.

I have been seeing it for years. Norway, Sweden, and Swizterland are dominating some of the Alpine sports, but one does not see the Norweigians,Sweds, and Swiss have a obsessive opinion about the judging system in their repective sports,as the Russians do, or the Americans. If it is to be seen, it is very rare. I have come to exppect this obsessed behavior, on the contary. One can turn it on a dime. On that note, I am also expexting one or many judging scandal(s) in the Winter games in Sochci, Russia. One nation's athletes will do anything to win; remember Salt Lake City with the Russian pairs, is a good exmaple.

What a sense of entitlement the Russians have.
Well, I guess it's no wonder, as for so many years they managed to dope, buy and barter their way to the top.

Evan won, plain and simple, his program was the best of the night, by far, and Plushenko is demonstrating his lack of sportsmanship, with his comments and if that wasn't enough, awarding himself platinum!!
Still no wonder, if you read the comments in Pravda on the event and the Games in general, one is forced to conclude that good sportsmanship is non existant in Russia.

Daily Horoscope for May 25

Pisces

You're raring to go today, especially on domestic projects. You'll achieve a tremendous amount if you're allowed to proceed at your own pace and in your own time, but you'll soon get ratty if you suspect someone is breathing down your neck or trying to tell you what to do. You'll also feel irritated with people you know really well, so be prepared for a few fireworks.
