i love Tool, my one and only favorite band, nothing can even come close to them, but f@ck people....everyone thinks they know Tool but in reality you don't know shit, its all Maynard this and Tool that, if you go to a Tool show and look in the crowd, it is like 90% punk ass kids, do you think Maynard and the rest of the band want to be followed by these people, im sure they have families that don't want to associate with people like that, if Maynard wants to make wine let him, and i bet if you get a chance to buy it you will and worship it, its fucking wine and its only fucking music....lol you are all a bunch of TOOLS

most people love his music because they can relate to his wrighting and people like that. thats with any band that they like so if u dont like this band....so what, u can be a little bitch and go listen to "Boys like Girls"

If you think tool should have retired after lateralus then you haven't really listened to 10,000 days. Each album has their differences. If they made all their albums sound like lateralus then they wouldn't be a diverse sounding band. I can't wait 'till they come out with a new album. One of my friends told me that Justin and Adam said in some guitar magazine that they are writing music.

Tool is by far my favorite band. Their music is unlike anything out there. Listening to their music is like looking at a messed up mathematical equation that just doesn't seem to make sense until all the factors are added together. When I first heard 10,000 Days, I too thought, "damn, it's no Lateralus. But after listening to it some more it took on a whole new musical experience. As of now it is my most listened to album. True Tool fans understand the music and understand that the process in making such richly complex melodies takes time and care. And much like a fine wine, it takes time before an album "tastes" just right. If only other artists took as much care in their music as Tool does, I think the music industry would be a much vibrant one and not filled with the disposable s@#t we hear on the radio day to day.

Tool, like alot of other bands, isnt singing about anything. Their singing to YOU. All of you. If you know their lyrics, then you dont know what hes saying. The true message is hidden within the music that blends with the lyrics. The purpose of Tool music is to get you to the OTHER SIDE, thats right, TOOLS music is spiritual. The only point their trying to make with their music is that life is NOT real, is NOT the end, and is ONLY the start of figuring out your true forgotten eternalness. Eat a bag of mushrooms, drop some acid, take some peyote, an THEN go back an hear TOOL. THEN AND ONLY THEN, will you get their true meanings, and then finally, for god sake, you people will finally wake up to this dream were all creating together.

Yeah. Rev is right. And actually, lateralus is my least favorite tool album. Oh and to the previous commenter: sure sounds like you know some tool lyrics.

Tool it a collection of dudes that make cool music, but are human and all share in the human trait of taking things for granted. They will wait too long to come out with another album and will continue the downward spiral in quality and creativity. Or, they will just break up . Either of these happens to every band, and although I hope they break that rut, I am not optimistic. Its time too seek new frontiers my fellow consumers of esoteric and powerful music. Besides, Puscifer really sucks.

I have heard rumor that they where working on getting a album by the end of the this year or early part of next. I hope they really are working on some new stuff. I would love to see them on tour again. It has been a while and am really craving to see tool again!

Just let it be...I think their music takes a lot out of them...their reasons for making music with other musicians gives them time to spread out and relax, before calling in for duty again. Puscifer doesn't suck by the way...it is simply catharcism, pigmy love circus is the same, as is standing in occasionally for the melvins, and becoming a sailor :)
They will do what they do, and in their own time.
