We have a Napa Valley Blog that is very helpful in directing folks to secret and hidden wineries that have that old-time Napa Valley feel. These are family owned wineries that care passionately about their wine and love to talk to visitors. She winecountrygetaways.com and look for the blog button. I appreciate Greg Marshall's suggestion to seek out hidden wineries. It's great fun to 'discover' lesser known wineries that offer wonderful wines. However, as CEO of Opus One, I have to take some umbrage with his one sited example of a winery that represents a 'trip through Napa Valley [which] is characterized by gigantic wineries and tasting rooms run by people that have never clipped a vine; namely Opus One.

All of our folks who host visitors have spent time making wine that is, in fact, blended into Opus One. Greg is correct: it is the personal interaction that makes winery visits rewarding and memorable. We take great pride in offering personalized visits that share our passion for winemaking...and getting our hands dirty. I welcome Greg and his readers to stop by and see for themselves.
