I think the judge missed the mark completely in stating an "addiction to cannabis." That is physically impossible, and cannabis use does NOT fit any of the definitions of addiction. Combining cannabis with other drugs can intensify the effects of other drugs (including alcohol.) I am in no way condoning the act of driving under the influence. Only pointing out the errors stated by the judge based on what we know scientifically of cannabis. It smacked of "reefer madness" nonsense and had to be addressed.
