Years ago, I went with a group to see Wayne Newton while in Las Vegas. It was a small group, but was almost evenly divided between men and women. I had not seen Newton on TV for years except for a late show interview every once in a while. I surprised how much me and everyone loved the show. I had gone hesitantly, but it was great and I have recommended him ever since.

I can remember listening to him on records or the radio, and confusing him with Brenda Lee. What a riot! I could never tell them a part. Best wishes, Wayne! You're an awesome performer. |

Have to laugh at Not a Fan But....I was the same way when I saw him perform at the Ohio State Fair in the late 80's. We were fortunate enough to get VIP passes and I was trying to give mine away to my mother and she didn't want to see him (I thought she loved Wayne Newton).
So glad she didn't take the pass. We ended up catching the second half of his act backstage and he was the showman. Great act and a great time. I became a fan of his and I was only 23 or so back then. |
