I'm sure that other issues like equipment, pension liablities, etc are much more important but hey ya got a comic's character and a movie star.......of course that's much MORE important than peoples' jobs.

Attorneys are headed to court to discuss Tribune Co. 's assertion that it owns the television and movie rights to comic book character Dick Tracy.

If the Tribune does win the rights to Dick Tracy, expect Tess Trueheart and B.O. Plenty to be laid off immediately as a cost-saving measure.

CLTV, that "24 hour" cable news channel. Mostly recorded, news, weather pieces from WGN and infomercials all night. It needs to go!

I hope the Tribune retains the rights, I don't think I can stand another Warren Beatty Dick Tracy movie. Yes CLTV is horrible, CNN and all the locals beat them to every story. When something big is breaking it is on all the locals and CNN, CLTV will then catch up in 20 to 45 minutes.

Why would The Tribune company be fighting the chance to make money off another Dick Tracy film? Make a deal with Beatty and everyone wins. Or is this about winning a fight so everyone loses, while newspapers are going under?

All I know is Dick Locher is not the one who should be drawing that strip. His artwork is terrible.
His political cartoons are even worse. I can't believe the Trib can't find someone - ANYONE - better. |

The Dick Tracy art isn't my cup of tea either, but to be fair to Locher he is maintaining the art style of the strip's originator, Chester Gould, who was not the greatest draftsman in the world even though his unique style worked well for him in this case. |

Should I care about this? Nah! The only ones who do care about it are the Tribune Company and Warren Beatty.
