Putin calls NATO 'relic of the Cold War'

Putin, who won a third presidential term last month, defended the government's intention to offer NATO a new logistics facility on Russian territory to facilitate transit of military cargo to and from Afghanistan.

Putin is quite correct. NATO's very raison d'etre vanished with the Warsaw Pact and the Soviet Union. It is a dinosaur which should be disbanded immediately. Other than the EU and NATO themselves there are no real threats to democracy in Europe.

Looks like Vlady is trying to create an issue were there is none. Old Putin just trying to start crap and rally the Russians behind him. Make the Russians forget about economy and high unemployment.

Look at what the big bad NATO did when Russia invaded Georgia. Nothing. NATO only fights the weak- Libya. NATO is a joke.

Maybe back it should back it's ally. But Putin is smart and he knows he controls the natural gas to western Europe. NATO is weak and should be disbanded if It cannot stop Russian aggression.
