Levy seeks new term for Suffolk social services boss

Im just grateful for the ombudsman to the Commissioner. Roland Hampson. Mr. Hampson is sincere, compassionate, and very patient with constituients. His honesty is something Suffolk County Needs.

Levy needs to clean house there and promote some low level employees into management to get some change from the fathead, old friend money funneling network they have going on.

I have to agree with Mr. Jones. I worked under Ms. DeMarzo for two years and the immature rantings and bullyings were a DAILY event.

I agree ,De Marzo must be let go. Obviosly DeMarzo must know where some dead bodies are buried and the price of her silence is reappointment.

While employees may have some problems with Commissioner Demarzo, she has been a very effective administrator and has managed the Department through difficult times. The fact that a Democratic County Executive wants to reappoint a Republican Commissioner speaks volumes to her strong management abilities. Levy is going to be there a while and should be allowed to pick who he wants.

mmmm: "Julie in Bayside, Queens" going to bat for a Suffolk County Commissioner?????? Smells like she is a Demarzo appointee afraid of losing her bread and butter or perhaps DeMarzo herself..........This is exactly why Suffolk County needs a cleansing.

Strong management skills and good people skills need to go hand in hand. If what the other posters are saying is true then it could be a major problem that hasn't presented itself yet to the powers that be. If there is a problem it will eventually come out.
All complaints should be thoroughly investigated before being reappointed. If the allegations are proved to be unfounded then the constituents should have no issue with reappointment.

You are replying to your own post asking whomever to "TRACE THAT POST". I will say yes to fighting back - against the insanity that is.

As for tracing the post - can you say warrant? Not only that what if the person is no longer a county employee or even if they are and are on their lunch break. There is no reason they can not reply - that would be ludicrous.

My apologies - The intent was not that they could not reply, just to reply using their own PERSONAL computer, not a taxpayer funded, office pc.

NY/expeciallyt Long Island, NY has pulled the wool over the eyes of its residents, its one of the greatest scams ever pulled off.
It should go down next to the stories of Yellow Kid Weil, but much more impressive, because to trick one or two is one thing, to trick thousands- that is impressive.

Janet Demarzo is 100% a lose cannon, and a complete nut case! she deserves to hang or go to hell for the way she treats people ! It is sad that someone of such poor character can survive all the corruption. I am proud to say Michael B Falcone stands on the DOL building in Hauppuage . Now Levy has withdrawn his resolution to reappoint Janet DeMarzo with a statement that he intends to wait to submit a resolution to reapopoint DeMarzo until he has more support. Obviously, no one wants five more years of Janet DeMarzo. Why can't he get that through his head and replace DeMarzo now with a rational person who does not resort to foul mouthed rages.

She saved the county money and gets things done ,who cares about the thin skinned county employees .

How about giving the position to someone who has earned it. Greg Blass. I cannot bash The Commissioner, I am only a resident,by no means political, and have not had any direct dealings with her as you all seem to have. I can OFFER YOU ADVICE. My dealings with the dept RECENTLY and the attention my situation is getting from them has been wonderful,all under the direction of the Commissioner, she does care.If her work ethics or behavior is that bad,bashing her isnt helping. As employees of the county, tell them who you think is fit for the job, maybe then You will be heard. GREGORY BLASS is an incredible Deputy to her, I dont see any negative feedback about his Hon.My dealings with his office in reguards to my childrens rights,have been second to none. So in an effort to help, political parties to me are of no relavance,but from just an ordinary tax payer and resident in this county,Gregory Blass would be my vote. People want officals who care. Trust me, Hon Greg Blass cares. I think the Commissioner has an idea of how you all feel, step up and do something,all of you have made your point. its clear.

dear steve levy and s.c.legislature;did you no that demarzo signed for 2007 and 2008 health and human services funding from capta on the applications for millions of dollars and claimed that her social services dept. and s.c.cps dept. rules and confidentiality laws are intact and everthing is secure. Well a father in s.c. was expunged in a badly bungled and covered up cps investigation that right now is being investigated by the nys ig.apparently this father secured 180 phone calls to the state central registry in sept. 2007 and nys commisioner gladys carrion who signs the application for fed. capta funding and then when recieved s.c.county commisioner demarzo signs for their share filed fraudulant application claims because they both knowingly knew in their official capacities that a full confidential breach of the scr central abuse hotline had occured and never reported it.This is the federal capta law for funding and recieving grants ,that the state and counties follow the federal guidelines for capta states they follow strict rules and regulations and that their programs have not been comprimised and that no children have been harmed as a result.Roland hampsom and demarzo were both given coies of the scr call billings sheets.I wonder how shes going to explain this to levy and the legislature when the county will have to pay back two years of capta funds for fraudulantly signiging for hhs. capta funds.

I am in NC and had personal dealings with Janet DeMarzo and her friends at CPS. To put it mildly, she and her cronies at CPS should be ashamed to call themselves Americans, for they are sad and poor examples of what America represents.

Janet DeMarzo is one of those unfortunate people with Intermittent explosive disorder (IED) This is a mental disturbance that is characterized by specific episodes of violent and aggressive behavior that may involve harm to others or in extreme cases destruction of property. People diagnosed with IED sometimes describe strong impulses to act aggressively prior to the specific incidents reported to the doctor and/or the police. They may experience racing thoughts or a heightened energy level during the aggressive episode, with fatigue and depression developing shortly afterward. Some report various physical sensations, including tightness in the chest, tingling sensations, tremor, hearing echoes, or a feeling of pressure inside the head.

Many people diagnosed with IED appear to have general problems with anger or other impulsive behaviors between explosive episodes. Some are able to control aggressive impulses without acting on them while others act out in less destructive ways, such as screaming at someone rather than attacking them physically.

This is sad and frightening for the 1000's of vulnerable families and children she is responsible for and the 1,400 staff in her charge.

How come Janet DeMarzo is still sitting in the Commissioner of Social Services' Seat? Why hasn't she been removed? There are more qualified people out there to run Social Services.
