How can you respect an organization that puts bands and artist in the hall of fame who have one really good hit (Ventures), and leave out groups that created a truly unique and innovative sound sold 10s of millions of records and still sell out concerts after 30+ years? Makes no sense. Until Moody Blues AND Chicago are in the Hall of Fame, the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame will have no legitamacy as far as I am concerned.

I agree with you. And let's not forget, the Moody Blues were at one time the number one group in the world. Although, I would not have given the Ventures, as an example, because although they only had one hit they made a major contribution toward guitar playing. But your one hit point is well put. There are so many duds in hall. Please, Blondie!! Let's see, no Moody Blues, no Chicago, no Jethro Tull, and at one time no Santana. I'm not sure if their last hit got them in or not.

Hard to get a handle on what makes the HOF selection committee tick. Using the same criteria which allowed such pop bands as The Ventures, DC5, The Rascals and the Lovin'Spoonful to gain admission, how can the MB's be denied? None of those acts had much of a sustained career, none had a seminal album and none still pack concert venues.
MB's can match them hit for hit, have at least two seminal albums and still are great to this day. |

I've been following this nonsense for years. It is spiteful, malicious and plain wrong. The Moody Blues are accused of having produced nothing but schmaltz for many years. Maybe so but very few, possibly none, of the inductees into the Hall of Fame can have been chosen on the strength of their recent work. The Classic Seven albums were an important milestone in rock history and to leave out the band who made them is perverse and shows the ignorance of those who should know better.
