Lead Singer

Sorry if this sounds like a stupid question but I don't know a whole lot about the Moody Blues though I really like their music. Who sang lead vocals? Was it one main singer and some of the members sand on occasion or were they like the Beatles and a different singer for every song?

The lead vocals are primarily done by Justin Hayward, although on occasion some of the other band members would take the lead.

Actually, within the Beatles, John and Paul wrote and sang 90 plus percent of their music. George, who possessed a great talent for both, rarely got the opportunity to do so. Ringo wrote and sang a couple of tunes, but the arrangements probably were John and Paul's.

The Moodies' lead guitarist Justin Hayward wrote and sang most of the tunes. He and ("best musician in the group" according to Hayward) keyboardist Mike Pinder did the arrangements for all the songs penned by flutist Ray Thomas and drummer Graeme Edge. As Edge stated in the Classic Artists DVD "Except for 'Little Guy'{'I'll Be Level With You' from Octave}, which was all mine, they should've gotten half (credit), but they didn't want it. Very generous of them." Pinder and bassist John Lodge wrote and sang about an equal share of their own songs.
