the afformentioned buckle is a beautiful peice of art that shouldnt go to just any asshole.....if it is what it is then it needs to go to good family! One who is deserving and respectful of all that buckle stands for,its not only an iconic peice of legendary musical history. It is a crest a symbol of "dead"ication of lives that span generations and should only be passed down to the ones humble and worthy....if you are serious about letting it go please contact me @ pranaone2001@yahoo.com

ain't that one of those things your sposed to be given by your family after you earn it?
Yup! Completely! One must be earned and gifted to you by Fam Fam! It's not the kind of club you buy your membership into... MUST be earned AND deserved.

Took me 21 years to get gifted my authentic '83 bronze stealie buckle. Came direct from an old schooler in a copenhagen tin signed by bear. Emotional day for me... and it makes me feel 25 feet tall!

hey just did a little bit of research by looking at my bearbuckle and others on the net and im not sure yours is a owsley just for the simple fact that it is set up backwords from all other owsleys I could find. when looking at the buckle you should see the bar that you attach your belt to on the right side not the left as on yours. just my two cents
gone

For those who are interested in Bear's art: Bear's family will continue to sell his buckles; you can contact us simply by sending email to Bear's email address, which is listed on his website. It will probably take us a bit of time to get back to you ---we're a bit overwhelmed with everything right now. But his art was very important to him, and is to us, and we want to make sure that people who want to have it can still get it.

FYI, the silver and turquoise buckle that KBT posted was not made by Bear; it looks like an unauthorized reproduction based on his design. His silver buckles look just like the bronzes, but are sterling silver. And all the skull and lightning bolt buckles are dated 1983; that is the year he made the original piece that the molds were made from. There were never any limited edition or dated runs of buckles. He also made other buckles from other designs ---sun and moon buckles--- as well as medallions in silver, gold and platinum. All these things can be seen on his website....

Wish I had bought more than the one I paid $30.00 direct from Bear at a concert in Grass Valley. I immediately gifted it to a friend who was at the concert with me.
