Have to say, I miss their music, miss them. They should be able to have their freedom of speech when ever where ever. Take a look at what President Busch has done in his 8 years of office. You overlook his errors, but are still talking about some comment that was made and happens to be what was heartfelt. I love their music and hope that the join forces and continue making their music.

BUSH made it 8 years. that means he WON a SECOND term. think that'll happen for obama?? how many people have you talked to that are sorry they voted for obama? i've talked to a few. makes ya think huh?

I will be the first person to admit my high degree of political ignorance and so will keep my ill-informed opinions regarding such to myself. I, personally, believe The Dixie Chicks have great musical talent and release songs that people can relate to in so many different ways. What their views are and how they choose to express them should frankly have nothing to do with a person or group of persons deciding not to listen to or not to play their music. Seriously people, thinking differently denotes a lack of maturity. I have no idea, nor do I care, what all of your educational backgrounds and respective career fields are. In saying that, I doubt many of you specialize in anything that deals with national politics and you are on here posting your opinions. I'll stop rambling now and am hopeful you all see what I'm getting at. P.S. I'm not taking a specific "side". I'm just wondering what one has to do with another.

What my problem with the DC is that they (well....the one with the huge mouth) stood in another country and made a remark about the president. you know she did it just to get the crowd going. she could have just told a corny joke and got the same reaction. but no, she chose to make her remark about our president during a time of war. i personally don't care what her political views are. just like i'm sure she couldn't care less about mine. she showed a total lack of respect and a total lack of class. just like kanye west....no class.

Yup. You are right on the mark as usual, maggie ol' girl. Except maybe that "political ignorance" thingy. I mean, ya don't have to have a degree in POLY/SCI to opine on Topix, and keep the loony birds straight.

My goodness, you Americans are strange people. Land of the free and home of the brave, but you seem to act like any followers of totalitarian regime (which I think you actually were very close to being for a few years). Free speech, yes, but not abroad (and perhaps preferably not in public?). My God, what kind of freedom of speech is that?
History has validated the comment of Maines, Bush was a liar and the war was started based on these lies.

Stay off the far-left webs sites, and you might actually learn something. 1st, Bush got the very same intel that ALL the other countries got, so to single Bush out as the liar is disingenuous, at best. 2nd..Maines' right to free speech was NOT violated in any way. What you're upset about is the people's reaction to what she said. Well, that's just too bad, because free speech works BOTH ways over here.
