You know what's so hilarious about the whole debate over Natalies' trivial remark about Bush?
GW himself was the one person LEAST upset about what Natalie said. In an interview, he was light-hearted and said they had the RIGHT to express their opinions.
So to all those absurd feather-flappers out there who made such a BFD about her innocuous little comment, you should have stopped and listened to your hero, GWB, to get HIS take on the non-issue.
Natalie, like any American citizen, had/has as much right to a personal opinion as the next. That she said what she said in another country is a moot point.
The entire flap was orchestrated by rednecks who understand little to nothing about our political system, our individual rights, and what the war in Iraq is "really" all about (oil and the NWO). And it is those redneck types who react in knee-jerk fashion by slinging mud needlessly and bulldozing CDs. It truly speaks to the lack of character and utterly misguided mentalities of those who are so uninformed.
More amazing though is the fact that the Chicks were raked over the coals for that simple remark, but when that hot-air balloon Rush Limbaugh said he hopes the president FAILS, no one jumped up and boycotted his radio show or went berserk over HIS very REAL lack of patriotism and respect. You may not like BHO, you may not agree with his politics, but it's pretty outrageous for a high-profile figure to say he hopes BHO fails, because if the president fails, a big part of this nation would fail and it would affect millions of citizens. So come on rednecks and other misinformed citizens, don't be such hypocrites.

Her comments of a sitting President during time of war, are considered "giving aid and comfort to our enemy", in this case terrorists. Al Jazeera and other Arab media, gather comments like these and put them forth over there, as widespread dissent coming even from Americans themselves = aid and comfort. Limbaugh not only made his comments here in the USA, but stipulated it was particular Obama <<POLICIES>> he did not agree with, and therefore wanted to fail. However there were other policies which Limbaugh hoped Obama would succeed at, for the benefit of the US, the economy for example. Rush also took plenty of flack from the left and even more from the far-left over his comments. Convenient for you to omit such news. People of all walks of life protested Maines' comments, so your use of term "Rednecks" is rather absurd. Part of the Iraq war was indeed for oil. The US had to ensure Iraq's oil reserves were not captured, held, and used for leverage by the bad guys. Had the bad guys succeeded, it would have created chaos and instability in the region, and drove up the costs of oil. There's more , but I'm out of room.

There is no difference between being verbalizing one's shame of the president or saying it is hoped the president fails. The reaction to Natalie would have been the same, no matter where it was said. Republicans are major hypocrites and not generally able to understand something as basic as common sense. (And btw, I'm neither a Democrat nor a Republican, so my views aren't based on closed-minded bias or bigotry.) Our foreign enemies gather everything - they are aware of everything done and said here and abroad; America is therefore, the superpower laughing stock of the universe. We are supposed to be SO powerful, SO intelligent, SO progressive, and yet everyday, American citizens entangle themselves in these stupid, petty issues involving entertainers' comments and lowly talk show hosts ... yada, yada. Insignificant people and their insignificant bickerings and pettiness ... bleh. As for Iraq, it's about the NWO. It's about ultimate power/control and money. Hussein is still alive and living well. Bin Laden is the NWO's buddy. 9/11 was an inside job, mere collateral damage to the NWO/US government. Americans are nothing but pawns and part of the plan involves dumbing down the general masses ... something the NWO & our own government is methodically doing each and every day through its systematic methods of poisoning and altering the minds of the American people.

I'm an Independent and believe you have a right to your opinion no matter how off-the-chart ridiculous it is. You've expressed yours, I've responded with mine. Discourse ended.

Why are people still pissed off about this? The American people have spoken. Natalie was right! Bush was a disgrace. His policies not only put in the mess we're in today, he almost single-handedly killed the Republican Party...none of them wanted anything to do with him during the election. Anybody who thinks otherwise is in serious denial!!

Where are they now ? It must have been a majority vote to ban their CD's and concerts. The minority who agree with what she said, well, are the minority that don't understand. Support our troops.

Where are they now? Mr. ah..Bigfoot, I would say they are at home with their families enjoying the life style that the money from selling better than 10,000,000 copies of their latest CD Taking The Long Way affords them...And what may I ask does this have to do with supporting our troops? The Dixie Chicks have always, very vocally, supported our troops. You just weren't listening.

Boy are you people haters! I found this website just googling Dixie Chicks to see when the next CD is coming out. I'll bet you guys have been hanging out here for years now just waiting to bitch at the people who might like and appreciate the Dixie Chicks and their music. You need to move on. It's been years now and most of the country now sides with Natalie. It's time to get out of the sand box and let the other kids play in peace... You big bullies!!!
