I have been on a Dixie Chicks kick for the last two weeks - listening to three of their albums over and over while I drive back and forth to KC for work. The more I listen the more I love the band and especially the voice of Natalie Maines. What a gift. So I have been doing a lot of reading about Natalie online and about all the controversey that she stirs up with her comments about Patriotism, the Memphis 3, Toby Keith, George Bush, etc. I have come to realize the obvious - that Natalie is one of those kinds of people that rarely engages her brain, before she engages her mouth - the things she says are truly adolescent. I imagine that 10-20 years from now, she will look back on all of this and realize what an idiot she was. With that said - I will always be a fan of her voice and of the Dixie Chicks - but I wouldn't want to sit down for a conversation with Natalie - I prefer adult conversation.

Dixie Chicks,
I've been scouring the Internet for good songs for these times. Songs to fight the GOP war on women. Please, please, give us one. We need a rallying song. Ya'll were strong to speak out before and suffered for it, but I think folks have really woken up. Your music could make us stronger.

They didn't say anything half as bad as the american people have said about Bush.I would have said the same thing if he had been from my home state. He was a complete idiot for invading Iraq. That was not the country that the guys came from that took down the twin towers. You people are nothing more than hyocrites. And Toby Keith making millions off of the military men. They were and still the best singing group out there.
