Yes I agree, beautiful voice but does that make you ETOTY? THe other nominees were more deserving and I thought winning this award was about the tours and concert tickets sold. That is why Chesney won the first three years. Instead the Academy has made it a popularity contest and we all know how many people are now addicted to American Idol.
I can safely say b\from being there, thousands of folks were as shocked as we were when she won.
Think the Academy should reconsider the fan-voted process for this award.

It's about the whole year..not just concert sales/tours. Although she toured the whole year and did better than any other country female artist. Carrie does more TV than other artists, plus her role as co presented on the ACM's. She also does more Opry performances. So it's the total package, not just the concert tours.

Well Vicki, one things for sure, Carrie fell well short of taking her music talent to the world ... And, part of her tour of duty in the USA was purily through the generosity and experience she would have gained through Keith Urban ...

Just wondering if any of the nominations for EOTY, other then Keith Urban, have shared their entertainability with fans around the world over the last 12 months with more than 150 performances in 3 continents and 6 countries ...

Not quite sure Carrie could pull that bag of tricks out of her hat ...

Some people are born entertainers, others still have a lot to learn ...

Carrie is where she is because of American Idol. I was so disappointed that a newcomer would go home with EOTY. I watched her open for Keith last year and there is no comparison. Keith blew her out of the water. The ACM's have become a joke.

Giggles and Ladybug~After seeing Keith with Kenny last year, I completely agree!!! Keith should have won. American Idol? Come on!!
The men nominated in that category could sing rings around her, George, Keith, Brad and Kenny.
Kenny to me is the best Entertainer, as far as vocals it would be a three way tie between Keith, George and Brad, all extremely talented. It;s hard to beat George at delivering a song, and Keith and Brad are musically very talented, and vocals are strong.
Kenny though does know how to entertain. His shows are awesome!
Interesting to me that Brad and Carrie are members of the Grand Ole Opry, and someone may correct me, but I do not think George, Keith or Kenny for that matter are. Generally folks who do not tour a lot tend to do the Opry, so they can draw in the crowds. I think part of its political in the music industry. Tim and Faith aren't members either.
At this rate however, Taylor Swift, bless her heart will be ETOTY next year, if it stays fan based. Taylor is a beautiful young woman, who is talented, writes her own music, and seems to hold her own with all of them. It's a popularity contest, not who is the most talented at this point!

aaaah horse shit! I guess your one vote out of millions was not enough to keep her from winning Am. Idol. I guess if the fans vote and she wins,its because they like her more than weshed up George.

George is a legend. As long as he puts the songs out I'll listen. He like the other nominees worked to be where they are at. Unlike the female nominee that won because of all the teeny boppers repeatedly voting for her.

I hate Carrie Underwood for her being in PETA . I belive eating meat is a good way to prove you are tough and I don't think she is .

Have to agree with most of you. I was terrible up set when Keith didn't win entertainer of the year. He has really been on top of it all in my eyes. Think it was a shock to a lot of people this year, may so even Keith who would never admit it. Its ashame..............sounds like popularity is taking over not who truely deserves it ( not that our Keith isn't popular)

Hey Folks..Bobby boy here. I got beat up pretty good last week for posting about Mike not turning up with Carrie on the Red carpet at the ACM's. Ottawa press, who are all over this story since he of course plays for the Senators,actually reported it weeks ago. Being from Canada not all that far from Ottawa,plus being a hockey fan,I know what they reported on our sports network up here. They even went as far as saying it would not interfere with his hockey schedule as the team had an off day on the sunday. Anyhow,needless to say they were wrong but they did report it so I posted it as well weeks ago to Carrie fans. If any of you were let down sorry but can't feel too sorry for you..Lets face it, living in Carrieland has been a hell of a ride..You should try shanialand...NOT GOOD...Actually one of my all time most debated threads was...Carrie won idol,could shania have??....WOW..That one got UGLY...Anyhow later..Bobby boy

Well if you can't beat them have your own show to have your self awarded an unknown entertainer of the decade. What a sham that was....you got entertainer of the year but i got entertainer of the decade????? That just shows how pissed he was that he got passed over by the CMA

Anyone ever attended the CMA's? Are they worth spending the money on? I was thinking about trying to go but noticed that last years tickets were very expensive. Is it just as good to go to Nashville but not attend the show. Are there other things going on that make it worth it?
