No comparison... No Dave Clark 5 album hit the top of the charts in the US and "Over and Over" was their sole #1 US single & that was in 1968. In the US DC5 had four Top Ten LPs & 8 Top Ten singles.

In the UK, only "Glad All Over" became a chart topper and none of their albums became a #1 hit. They've had two UK Top Ten LPs & seven Top Ten singles in the 60s.

The Beatles have had more #1 singles & LPS in the US or the UK than DC5 had Top Tens.

Not even a close second in 1964 or any year!

Many people think the Beatles and the The Dave Clark Five started power-pop

glad all over was preety good, but in reality, there were only a few good british invasion groups out there.
the beatles, the rolling stones, the kinks, the animals, the who, led zeppelin, david bowie, rod stewart, most of the others were one or two hits.
paul revere, dave clark 5, hermans hermits, freddie and the dreamers, the yard birds were good, but they never were a complete band, meaning people came and left too often.

It doesn't matter THIS my friend. And the Byrds had the same line up changes all the time. Gene Clark, Crosby, Gram Parsons, e.t.c. And other groups too. It's natural, goes with the job. Any job.

Guess you had to be there to fully appreciate the Dave Clark Five. They were much more than great music of the 60's.....they were part of a music movement that has changed the face of music and the lives of those of us who were around when the "Invasion" was happening. Give me the DC5 anyday!!!!

For anyone interested in future releases from Dave Clark (like Ready, Steady, Go) there's a 20 minute radio/call in interview with Dave from oct.15, 2008 on: http://mygeneration.podbean.com/
He clears up a lot of confusion as to why product is slow to get re-released. Really worth the time.

Daily Horoscope for June 4

Cancer

If you want to make changes to your working environment or career prospects, do your best to get on with your colleagues today. It's a powerful Lunar Eclipse, so the Moon-ruled could encounter opposition as the knives come out. Perhaps someone objects to the way you're doing things, or maybe they're just plain jealous. Ensure that you're acting in everyone's best interests and not just your own, or you'll really land in hot water!
