Bacon Brothers perform at fundraiser for cash-strapped Philadelphia Mummers Parade

the Mummers parade is falling victim to the Nutter administration's lack of money, along with Columbus Day parade. Puerto Rican day parade went off without a hitch. Hopefully the Mummers parade will go on. If there is a parade I hope Mayor Nutter would not try and get his picture taken with the Mummers parade as his backdrop.

The Mummers and most organizations can have parades if they like but, the city should not pay for it. I am not promoting any group over another they all should pay their own way this is not a city, federal or state problem. With unemployment where it is at, the war and all the other issues the economy is creating a toll on the average tax payer. Also, these parades need to have a time limit no other organization shuts down the city for hours and goes on until 9 or 10 in the evening from early in the morning other than the Mummers. There needs to be some fairness and concern for the tax payers of the city. I know the city needs to budget the tax dollars better than they do but, most of these organizations have been getting taxpayer hand outs for way to long.
