Should have gone on welfare; nobody on welfare ever owes anything or pays for it themselves
really? I am on welfare, my husband and I both lost our jobs around the same time, we have 2 kids... We still have bills to pay THAT WE PAY OURSELVES!!! Not everyone takes advantage of welfare. I'd rather NOT be on it, but I am grateful it was there when we needed it!

Stuff happens... Has NO ONE that's leaving these rude comments EVER paid a bill late or forgotten to pay something? Yes he signed and plead guilty, set up a payment plan, 27 years ago. After a year or two, unless you have that paper in your face 24/7, you may just forget you ever had that fine. You think the court would have sent something that came as a certified letter?!
He's paying the fine, back off.

That is why the Judge at the court is allowing him to get back on a payment plan rather then just issuing an arrest warrant and jailing him.

Just in case he didn't have that paper in his face 24/7 and just forgot that he had that fine.

Despite what you think the courts will work with you and understand the recession out there.

BTW, Dauphin County owes me tens of thousands of dollars in unpaid server fees that I will ultimately never see.
That county wants you to work for free.
Sorry, bye, bye! And they wonder why there are warrant problems in the commonwealth somewhere in the millions of unserved warrants.
Hey I know a fella with a warrent out of Easton Pa, if I tell you where to find him can I earn my proper fee's? No but seriously I know what you are getting at an old friend of my moms was a constable, and everything you have said is right on. Also got a question I do seriously know a fella that has a warrent but he hides in Phillipsburg so you cant catch him....when will he ever pay his debt? I think its foolish that someone can hide across the river to avoid paying up and nothing can be done.

My office DOES pursue scofflaws in NJ, specifically Phillipsburg. This is first done via mail and phone. If the person still doesn't respond we WILL go into P'burg NJ after notifying local police and make contact with those persons or post notices.

If the charge is criminal in nature they are arrested in NJ under PA's warrant (NCIC entry) and extradition proceedings commence in NJ.

What normally happens with scofflaws who think they are safe in NJ is once they see us over there trying to make contact, they high tail it across the river to make arrangements to pay.

In one instance a really stupid fellow called local police to tell them he had a warrant in PA and can we really do anything.

Needless to say I was contacted by police, confirmed the warrant and the guy was told he better meet up with me on the other side of the river or he could be charged with being a fugitive from another state under NJ law.

You can send me his info if you wish to WILSONCONSTABLE@RCN.COM

Thanks!

Here's a funny story....

A guy in Texas was arrested on my warrant after I called the Harris County Constables office and the guy told me over the phone..."Come and get me you f'in azzhole, I dare you to, what are you going to come to Texas to arrest me??"

I called the constable's office there (they are a full police agency in Texas) and described the conversation I had, I faxed a copy of my warrant and I advised them to only make contact.

An hour later I get a call they have him in their lock-up and he is crying, they held him and were gonna charge him with some form of harassment and being a wanted person from another state. Eventually the guy's momma contacted the court and myself a few hours later, western unioned me the money in full and I told them to release him.

Very stupid move on his part!

I want to add the the majority of the warrants I have on people are for simple scofflaw violations, these people ARE NOT criminals and are usually good people.

I don't treat people like criminals, don't make it a point to handcuff scofflaws and treat all people with respect and how I would want to be treated.

From doing this for so long I have built up good working relationships with people (defendants) and normally all it takes is a phone call to remind them to get in, again I understand finances and give people time if they need it.

My next step is then to mail a letter or go out personally and talk to them to find out why they are ignoring me. Even then I normally will walk away and let them go in.

Only the die hard scofflaws and people who are purposely taking steps to avoid arrest are pursued hard and arrested and sometimes jailed.

Most constables do things the way I do.
