My favorite movie of all time. I do believe I have seen it 30 or 40 times.

Rookie. ;) |

I liked "Grail" more than "Brian," but that's me.
You've got to give kudos to a comedy team that usually still had you laughing to the point of urination at something they did 5 minutes earlier. |

"Grail" and "Brian" are both brilliant in their own ways.
While the rest of my family watches the boring old "Ten Commandments" or "The Greatest Story Ever Told", etc., on Easter. I always watch "Life of Brian". Always look on the bright side of life!!! |

Ah, yes. When I think of the `Holy Grail', I always compare it to Bergman.
"Go and boil your bottoms, you sons of a silly person." |

Message for you, sir!

"I wave my private parts at you."

You must answer ME these questions, Three!

I'm a fan of 'Holy Grail' but think 'Brian' is better. I start laughing just thinking of the 'Romans go home!' scene.

Holy Grail is very funny, Life of Brian is pure dead brilliant.

i was living in skokie when grail came out. me, and a bunch of old buddys saw people laughing so hard they were falling out of their seats into the aisles! we were all fans from the channel 11 sunday night shows, but we didnt have any idea what to expect from a long form film. guys were peeing in their pants during the black night scene. movie still makes me crack up. a classic. kneeeeee.........

Well, that's me too. I'm not much of a Python fan otherwise, but this is a movie I can watch over and over. Even though my sister was bitten by a moose. |
||||
|
I loved Python in high school, when everyone would show up on Monday morning doing silly walks and talking about naked lady-parts. I'll admit, I was disappointed the first time I saw Holy Grail: the complete absurdity of the ending just went by me. All subsequent viewings, though, pretty much had me soiling myself. And I laughed, too...

Must see TV on Sundays growing up...too too influential...

I still don't know how many wingbeats African and European swallows have.

The staying power of the movie is shown when 50-year-old men start acting like complete 13-year-olds when discussing scenes from the movie. Our wives look at us as if we're discussing balancing spoons on our noses...
But it's merely a flesh wound. |

Both Grail and Brian are great, but I'll give the edge to Grail if only for the Black Knight (tis but a scratch). Of course there is one thing I've always wanted to know about Brian - were they aware when making the welease Bwian scene that it actually would work with the Jesus/Barabas option (welease Bawabas)?
