Of all the British comedies, Monty Python by far was the best.

I first encountered the Flying Circus as a couple of LPs that my sister brought back from England in the early 70s, so I took it in as though it had been a radio show. I still think it actually worked better that way--the visual part of the show actually distracted from the brilliance of its writing and verbal delivery much of the time. So it's no surprise that its creative energy helped to spawn the greatest radio comedy/drama during that genre's final decay into the abyss of technological obsolescence. The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. Anyone who hasn't obtained and listened to the original BBC radio episodes of this penultimate Douglas Adams masterpiece should do so as soon as they can.

The British have a way with comedy, but so do the Australians, with such acts as the "Paul Hogan show" and "Mother and Son".
Benny Hill was a genious, way ahead of his time, but it was Python that came to public television in America in 1974.
George could see that Python was a great comedy team, that's why he financed their 1978 movie,Life of Brian.
George and Eric Idle became dear friends in the mid 70's and remained as so till George's pre-mature death in 2001.

You're right about the Brits and their comedy.
They know how to make us split our sides laughing.
We liked the Goodies, Black Adder, Faulty Towers,
and many more. I'm surprised Ringo doesn't do a comedy show.(or has he???)

Ringo played in Caveman, and guest starred in quite a few more movies in the late 60's and 70's, but the only t.v. show he actually played in was (gulp) Shining time station (a childrens show on pbs).
How could I forget Faulty Towers, though only 12 episodes, it is a classic show.

Daily Horoscope for December 29

Aquarius

Be careful now, because you could easily give someone the wrong impression and not even know that you're doing it. This is most likely to happen if you're trying to pussy-foot around them or avoid offending them, because that's when things could get lost in translation. You also have a tendency to sit on the fence now, which could make you seem slightly untrustworthy or shifty if you aren't careful.
