On July 19, 2008, local band Collider will hit the stage at the Rock and Roll Hotel with Memories
from the Space Age, The Engine Room, and Suspicious Package. The Rock and Roll Hotel is
located in the famed H ST corridor. H ST has seen a resurgence in bars and clubs and is
becoming one of the best places to see live bands in DC.
Show doors open at 8:30 pm and the show begins at 9:30pm. The cover is $10. Rock & Roll
Hotel (www.rockandrollhoteldc.com ) is located at 1353 H Street, NE Washington DC.
Collider is a five-piece rock band from Washington, DC. Formed in 2007, Collider is and has
always been about Swagger Rock. Swagger Rock is the band’s made up sub genre that allows
them to channel the rock of Led Zeppelin, the strut of Thin Lizzy, and the comical hooks of The
Donnas and Queens of the Stone Age.
Collider spent the early months of 2008 recording its first album at Cue Studios in Virginia. "Six
Story Walk Up" is a collection of driving anthems, hooky post-punk tunes, and edgy explosions of
rock. The albums use of high gain guitars combined with Mona Sahaf’s extremely soulful voice
results in music that is both driving and danceable.
Collider has drawn enthusiastic crowds at DC area venues including American University,
Wonderland Ballroom, The Red and The Black, the Artomatic Festival and Galaxy Hut.
