Musical spirit of 1976

Full story: The East Carolinian

I continually bemoan the state of modern music. I despise rap music, Greenday is a bunch of hacks and Emo kids just bring me down.

I'm a HUGE AC/DC fan and always have been but Greenday's latest (American Idiot) is actually quite good. (Check out the cut Jesus of Suberbia)

the guy who wrote this article is an idiot ...

well, they have some good points but the fact that they called Green Day "a bunch of hacks" makes me question the validity of any of his opinions ... if this dude likes Orange Juice, then i will never drink it again, if he likes 24, then i may have to question the awesomeness of Jack Bauer.

yes, 50 and Thursday suck. but not Green Day - they RULE!

you looking for guitar solos? well, um, theyre not hard to find as long as you are willing to look beyond the MTV state of the world. Stever Morse may vary well shred better than anyone else alive and he's putting out records. JP in Dream Theater plays some insane stuff... and hell, even some of the Headbanger's Ball crowd play rediculous solos.

If this dude's the music buff he claims he is then "finding" that type of music isn't that hard - just walk by the "top sellers" list at Tower and its all there (in its 1976-esque glory) for you're buying. My theory is that he just wants to get spoon fed the music he likes the way he did back in his glory days while wearing some horrible bell bottoms and sported a cool fro and a Blue Oyster Cult tshirt.

... and why are you baggin on Bad Religion? are you kidding? thats a cop out if ive ever heard one. Bad Religion's not nearly popular enough to be blamed for crappy quality of stuff out there. Sure you can blame Blink 182 and Good Charlette all you want, but not Bad Religion. He only mentions them because their name starts with "Bad" and he had to mention "Bad Company".

so ya ... the dude has no idea what he's talking about and just wants to complain. just save brain cells and go buy the new Green Day album, American Idiot, THEN read this article so we can all agree about how wrong this guy is

Greenday has honored Angus on the cover of their Dookie album. Angus is standing on a builing in one of the corners.

Daily Horoscope for June 4

Taurus

Get involved in financial transactions at your peril under today's Lunar Eclipse, because certain people will use them as a stick to beat you with. For instance, if you ask someone to lend you money they'll either make you feel guilty about it or dredge up all sorts of past instances when their trust was betrayed. You would also be well advised to avoid any show of possessiveness or jealousy, even if you feel it, unless you truly don't care about the disastrous outcome.
