Letter to the Editor in Austin American Statesman

We don't know who to really contact about this but this is where we are starting. I think the scoop the poop ads are gross and extremely embarrassing for Austin. I understand that it very well may be an issue that needs to be addressed but is TV really the place for it? I often listen to the news in the back ground while cooking and eating with my family. The ads are excessively informative and just nasty. Maybe sign ads in the dog parks and on side walks or billboards would be better and less offensive. We aren't really the complaining type, but this ad made us have to speak out. The first time we viewed it as a family the overall reaction of the room was "Ewww... That's gross!" I cant imagine being a tourist here in Austin to turn on a TV and see the scoop the poop ads. Seriously with the smell of Del Valley and the ads I mentioned they are giving the impression that Austin is, a for lack of better words, a crappy place. Keep Austin weird.... Not GROSS!
