Why Is Coca-Cola Supporting A Jamaican "Murder Music" Performer?

Full story: Queerty

When Coca-Cola sponsored a four-day Coke Zero Live concert in Montego Bay, Jamaica this past April they invited Sizzla , a "murder music" performer whose lyrics call for the murder of homosexuals-because nothing says low-calorie refreshment like a musician who advocates shooting fags in the back of the head.

Sizzla also says a lot of other things.. Most of which is positive and uplifting so why pick the thing to disagree with?
Guess you are one of those types that only see the "negative" in people and your surrounding.. So inspiring like the other idiots out there

Stalin and Hitler said some good things too. Why just pick out the bad things they did ?

There is a difference between having an opinion and acting on it or even running around advocating peopke act on it.. Like a lot of others out there, you and I have our views and may often express them in one way or another.. I am stongly against homosexuality but live in a community where its accepted, that don't mean I should go around setting them alight because I say "bun batty man", and we don't see it happen here or anywhere for that matter..

Long and short of the story is, let people have their views because our views will always upset someone somewhere. Just be happy when your existance and happiness and that of others are not in danger.

To be fair, you shouldn't drink pop in the first place...it is very unhealthy! Try fruit juices instead, with natural sweeteners...your body will love you for it!

It isn't fair to tell a group of people that are threatened by the message that circulates in their community in relation to their executions to be happy when the group's existence and happiness are not in danger. One doesn't know if that is a fact, though the message that is being circulated doesn't necessarily help ensure the safety and happiness of the group being described in the message in relation to their executions.

You do have valid argument points though...a lot of points that some countries ALLOW to be broadcast under freedom of speech laws. So you can tell these other people that before they speak against one person, how they are not speaking against other people (usually of another race...many that convey the SAME message in a different genre of music!) that say the same thing, in the backyard of their communities? There are MANY American "Murder Music" performers, though they are rarely spoken against, from my observation!

Now, you can make the argument that one making a statement in their lyrics doesn't reflect on their actions, and outside their performances, they don't advocate or act on their messages that they convey to the public. This doesn't downplay the content of their message, dj stain, though again, you can argue that these performers never FORCED other people to take up in arms and execute other people the performers in their conveyed messages in their lyrics had stated the people should execute! It is quite the argument, dj stain, though it would probably be much better if the message, especially if the artist doesn't act in that manner, is not said in the first place, right? That would mean that we'd hear beautiful music, no controversial statements in the song, and we wouldn't be arguing about the issues that arise from hearing these songs, right dj stain? RIGHT!

Well if we can make the world an ideal place, all these wishes will come to pass but, for some unknown reason, humans find it important to be contraversal in words and/or actions.

Look at life this way, If people are allowed to say what they like but however restrict their actions, thats a great thing, because, we will not anly know how they think and know who we are surrounded by, but we also know what we should do either change their belief/views, or know what to do to safeguard ourselves.(I.e, the more we allow people to "get away with", the more they expose their weakness etc. and alow us to plan for what we deem to be progress)

Daily Horoscope for June 4

Aries

Take care today Aries, because the emotional landscape in your neighborhood will be full of pitfalls during the coming fortnight, as it has been since the Solar Eclipse on May 20. The more convinced you are that you're right, the harder it will be to navigate your way around forthcoming events. If you feel resentful of someone, perhaps a neighbor or sibling, you need to get your feelings out in the open, rather than burying them deeper, where they'll fester and lead to more problems in the long run.
