Last 2 contestants of Singapore Idol battle it out for title

SINGAPORE: After weeks of anticipation and vocal sparring, the Singapore Idol competition is finally in its home stretch with the winner to be announced on Monday.
The last 2 contenders fought it out in a high-energy final show down at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.
Having beaten the other 10 finalists, the 2 Singapore Idol contestants had to out perform each other en route to the Idol crown.
They were watched by a packed stadium and President S R Nathan.
23-year-old Jonathan Leong, started with Snow Patrol's "Chasing Cars".
While his opponent, 26-year-old Hady Mirza opened with "Freedom" by George Michael.
Season Two of Singapore Idol started with auditions for over 3,600 registrants in February, each hoping to replicate Season One winner Taufik Batisah's path to stardom.
Hady and Jonathan will find out who is the new Singapore Idol during the results show which will be beamed LIVE on MediaCorp Channel 5 at 8.00 pm on Monday.- CNA /dt
