Controversial rock icon Sinead O'Connor turns gentler

Full story: XtraMSN Real Estate

You know, sung in a normal voice with just like a guitar, a punk version of opera songs, like the Sex Pistols go to the opera. Singer Sinead O'Connor, who once inflamed Catholic sensibilities when she ripped up a picture of Pope John Paul II, hopes a new batch of psalm-based songs will cast off the brash, shaven-headed image accorded ... via XtraMSN Real Estate

Hey, you're one of my favorite people -- I'd NEVER flag you!

Ironically, I said something nice about Sinead because I thought YOU liked her; I too think she's a bald-headed ho! LOL!!!! YOU ARE SO NICE!!!

My name tag says I'm from Flanders, NJ -- I hate that town! I don't live there, never have, never would! Of course they can't use your real home town; I understand that. But Flanders is a small CITY, and I ain't no city gal!

By the way, how did you know I have no tan? Did I tell you that? I spent 8 days in the Bahamas as you know, but I never sit in the sun. I made sure I sat under a palm tree while I was on the beach. It was HOT, and although I love the islands, I'm not a hot weather person. One time I spent 3 whole weeks in Florida, and came back with no tan! LOL.

Sheryl of NJ Topic

You replied to someone about not sitting in the sun, and once I read something, I rarely forget. You're smart not getting rays, especially with the I-A complexion.

I had a relative who lived in Lake Mohawk and I used to hang out there during the summer. I know many who are scattered throughout NJ and a brother in Wyckoff. I'm surprised that they don't list your home town, as they do mine. By any chance, do you have a sign on your lawn that says, Green Acres??

I know Lake Mohawk! I also know Wyckoff, but not very well. Did you know that Brad Pitt had a home temporarily in Lake Mohawk? He sold it because people wouldn't leave him alone. Lake Mohawk is actually a part of Sparta, NJ, a very high-cost town. I lived there many years ago! I love my hometown though, and it's not Sparta. Green Acres -- LOL! It could be, I guess :) I'm definitely a country gal at heart; in truth, all my relatives (now sadly, mostly gone) were dyed-in-the-wool hillbillies. But I loved each and every one of them!

As a teen, I used to hang out in Lake Mohawk!

If I were Brad Pitt's neighbor, he would still be living there :-) Did you know that the Lake Mohawk Home Owner's Assn. discriminated. My relative was Italian-American like Mr. Sheryl, and they were interviewed to show that the complexion was not too dark. This was years ago but just thinking about it makes me wonder how they ever got away with it.
We used to go to Sparta also but before most of the building took place. Sparta really took off about the time I left for the Plywood State.
With the cost of doing business, even Walmart reflects higher prices but still better than other stores.

You are so right! I do not like Sparta because not too long ago, even in the sixties and seventies and part of the eighties, they would NOT allow any blacks to buy a home in Lake Mohawk. I know this personally, since my supervisor at the time was black, and he and some of his friends bought a building (a club) on the main part of Lake Mohawk's boardwalk, and they were harrassed so much they eventually gave in and sold the place. I was outraged, and told my boss he never should have sold! Now you know what they have? A black man at one of the entrance gates! A highly visible position for him, so Lake Mohawk can claim they don't discriminate...and that's not all. My stepgrandfather, who was Italian, was refused a home in Lake Mohawk because of his Italian heritage. You couldn't pay me to live in Lake Mohawk; in my opinion, it is NOT pretty (the houses are jammed together so closely), the taxes are ridiculously high, and I believe they STILL discriminate no matter how they try to deny it. Also, when I was young I had a lot of teenage friends in Lake Mohawk and attended MANY parties there -- the kids' parents would leave them alone to go on vacation, and the kids always had plenty of money to buy booze -- some of the wildest parties were held in unsupervised homes in Lake Mohawk.

I was quite young when I went to some of those parties, and I didn't drink alcohol back then, but YES, we did have fun!

That's what those years are for, to learn and have fun. Once out earning a living, the direction changes.

There were no black guys in Lake Mohawk at the gate when you posted this.

Personally I would not care if there were or not, but there aren't any so you weren't there when you posted this.

"Bald headed ho"? You have no idea who Sinead is or what she's about! She's an AMAZINGLY gifted singer and song writer who has never intended to fit the mold or do it for the money. Have you ever listened to any of her albums? Ignorance is bliss.....

Daily Horoscope for December 19

Sagittarius

A loved one gets hold of the wrong end of the stick today, causing endless hassle and fuss. They're likely to get upset in the process, so you have to calm them down, and that could lead to a squabble. You may also have to cope with discord when discussing family matters, with certain people getting bogged down in daft details that you think have nothing to do with the main issue.
