Realize that NEWSWEEK is on life support. Its circulation is dropping like a rock. Both people that read the article disagreed with it.

What a moron, If people are asked to accept Tom Hanks playing a gay guy, then why can't they accept a gay man playing a straight guy. This loser should find a new job.

Well Ramin, I could say something ugly about Muslim writers not being as good as Christian writers but I won't.

Muslim, do we know that?
Iranian American Gay man from Fresno who went to Stanford -- isn't that punishment enough? Apparently the gays in Iran are pretty good at acting straight, or they're killed.
Anyway, it seems Ahmadinejad and Ramin are both experts at sizing up who doesn't act straight enough.

I'm sorry, but Neil Patrick Harris on How I Met Your Mother proves this guy is wrong.
Plus, gay people are great at acting stright, since so many times when one of them comes out everyone says "OMG i had no idea!".

This is absurd!
A good actor can play ANY role. They can play a hero, a villain, they can play the lead or just some extra. They can play any role that any writer can write.
I often find myself amazed at those people (albeit a small number of people) who think that a professional entertainer's personal life and stage life are somehow intertwined. Thank goodness those people are few and far between. But they do exist.
Although most of the ones I've seen are teenagers or pre-teens, who will (hopefully) grow out of it eventually. Rarely does it come from a professional writer. Newsweek should be ashamed.

Why there are no gays in Iran! Ahmadinejad said so at Columbia University! As for the writer of the article, I bet he couldn't act his way out of a dry cleaning bag. His whole Newsweek column read like a bitchy queen who's jealous of someone else's talent.
