In regards to the comments below, the San Francisco Symphony is too very concerned about the carbon footprints of its tours. Unfortunately, the Orchestra was not traveling to SLO from San Francisco, but from Chico, where they performed the previous night. Buses would not have allowed the Orchestra to make the concert in time. The Orchestra did proceed on buses for the rest of its Southern California tours. At home, in San Francisco, the Orchestra uses Bio-Diesel buses to all of its runout concerts.
