Rudy Guede: Amanda Knox "was not there"

OF COURSE Amanda Knox was not there! How many more times do we have to say it before that clear and simple fact dawns on the Perugian Court? While the court in Perugia takes its sweet time to figure out what objective observers all over the world already know, two people are spending their fourth year in prison for a murder they did not commit. Let them go!

While the US State Department may claim not to influence local investigations, the following needs to happen:
First, Hillary Clinton had to grow a pair and start to exert diplomatic pressure on the Italians,

Second, Rocco Girlanda, the Italian Legislator who made sizable profits his book "Take Me With You" from his secret recordings of his conversations with the overly trusting Knox, needs to take a visible position on her behalf,

Third, the Seattle side of the Seattle-Perugia Sister City program has to begin steps to dissolve the affiliation,

Fourth, the boycott of Italian goods and services and as a travel destination has to continue and the pressure from the blog-a-sphere has to continue to fight the message of the haters,

Lastly, Knox has to keep her nose clean in prison and we have to pray that the Italians do not harm her (or worse) as they see their case unravel and reputation sink deeper into the toilet.

CNN is scheduled to present a one-hour report on the miscarriage of justice in Perugia. It is set to air on Sunday night 8 p.m., at least in the NY area.
Many of us have been sending emails to various news organizations and maybe those efforts are paying off.
You are right about the danger Amanda faces from vengeful haters who simply can't admit they were wrong. People who have visited her in prison say they fear for her safety and sanity under those conditions.
I really hope that Obama's new-found courage in dealing with Bin Laden translates into an aggressive stance on the question of an innocent American girl being held captive in that medieval backwater of Perugia.

Gompertz is right, Italy! Amanda and Raffaele should be released BEFORE CNN can air its program on Sunday. Waiting any longer would be a disaster.
