Rosie sure does express her opinion, but she is not so generous when others express theirs! Her classless assault on Carrie Prejean for saying she thought marriage should be between a man and a women, when asked at the Miss U.S.A. pageant, was a prime example.
It was an opinion. Same with people here that don't like Rosie, well Rosie did not like Carrie Prejean's opinion so she gave her own. Not to mention, that though Miss Prejean sure can have her opinion, I find her comment (you mentioned above) to be quite 'old fashioned' to say the very least. The 'normal' man and woman marriage isn't working so well these days, so who is to say any other marriage (or relationship) won't work. It's a changing world and for some, change is difficult, but thta doesn't mean it is wrong.

Sorry, but it is wrong. So very, very wrong!
Why? The 'old' way is not working. Marriage between a man and a woman is not the only way to raise a family, in fact, it's a rare success these days.

Marriage, by definition, has more then one meaning. You use the words 'correct' and 'normal' but those are just of your opinion. Same with 'deviant' and 'abnormal'. To me it is not 'normal' to be so closed minded that you can't allow or be accepting of change just because you disagree with it. There is nothing 'deviant' in raising a child to grow up feeling loved and wanted no matter who raises it.

Yes, your comments are indeed your opinions. You can read anything from any book and come to your own conclusions from what you have read, thereby forming your opinion. You can be told and taught as such, forming your thoughts/conclusions and therefore your opinions. I much prefer to take what I read, what I have been taught and filter through it to make my own opinions/conclusions. While doing so I prefer to accept, rather then judge, in a world that is full of change and progression and is not being lived according to old beliefs and laws. I can Google the legal definition of marriage too (and you only posted one version). The best words I found in it were 'of sound mind'. THAT, says it all. Period.

CALLIE; after filtered through your own opinion/conclusion, how much is 2+2? Is it still 4, or has that "changed and progressed" too?

Ahh, you must be at work and under a new name again. Sarcasm, DARN, I hoped we could avoid that.

I didn't say everything changed (we were talking about marriage), but some things do change. We can choose to chage with them (and not judge) or stay with old beliefs (and judge). Further, we don't have to even agree with the changes out there but in my OPINION I choose to accept that there is change in our world. And it's ok.

Callie from Canada: I didn't think you were cleaver enough to get my analogy. Some things don't change, marriage, like simple math, is one of them. It has stayed the same for over 2000 years! And half-baked opinions aren't going to change it now.
And, I don't know who you think I am, but I have posted under the same name for years. Preposterous!

That's because your analogy is slightly off and hard to comprehend. My proof is that 2 + 2 does indeed still equal 4. However marriage in today's world HAS changed. Several states in your very own country are my proof. So, you and your analogy, are wrong.:)

And a more typical liberal, neo prog reply you could not make. The gays make the same mistaken conclusion with the Bible. They claim it's not a sin because the word 'homosexual' isn't used. Yes, that WORD didn't exist, but the CONCEPT did. The words,"Man shall not lie with another man as with a woman", is crystal clear. Jesus Himself judged. Do you think he told the prostitute to keep on hooking? Or do the words "Go and sin no more", sound about right?
And it isn't just those of faith that find homosexuality disturbing. I have many atheist friends that also believe it's deviant, not of the norm.
Does the phrase "Love the sinner, hate the sin", sound familiar? What call you 'Progressive', in accepting this behavior, is in fact,'Degressive'! But this isn't just limited to homosexuals. Mardi Gras is a fine example.
Oh yippee! This conversation is over. I'm not going to discuss (argue?) the Bible, or your misrepresentation of it, with you. This has nothing to do with what 'the Bible says' but with how a person chooses to live their life. Rosie is a good person and I like her - gay and all. Have a very nice day.

See, you are the same person! And do not take the Lord's name in vain. C'est dommage!

Daily Horoscope for June 2

Sagittarius

You're feeling ultra optimistic today, which is great for summoning up the necessary energy to do what has to be done. But don't let it go to your head and convince you that you're capable of performing miracles. If you aren't behaving in this way you'll have to cope with someone who has a swollen head and thinks they're the cat's whiskers.
