"I use the example of music artists. Look at someone old school like Ray Charles, if he would make music today it would still be Ray Charles but he would probably do it more in the style of Kanye West. Bringing Ray Charles back is all fine and good, but it just needs to move on, although the core essence will still be the same."
This guy is talking about an old video game being remade and is uttering the quoted nonsense to justify the new direction they are taking for the game. I don't know about the game itself nor do I care and I only learned about the article because a friend who does and knows I adore Ray Charles pointed it to me.
I don't know about others but reading such a ridiculous statement made me angry. Seriously. Without any disrespect to Kanye West fans and to Kanye West himself, I think we can all agree that this is unacceptable nonsense. Even for those who love Kanye West's music, I'm pretty sure that no one in their right minds would dare think to put the two in the same pot with such a vast chasm of class between the two. I can't bring myself to imagine Ray Charles mixing in profanity in his lyrics, as Kanye West does.
I wonder, is this a PR move to attract attention? Or are game developers these days just nuts without any taste or class?
