Rajesh Khanna had natural talent, effortless performances, charm,no one can match his magnetic looks of youth, men, women, old, young everybody loved him.He did not have to work hard to get the super stardom,so gifted he was,cut above the rest, unlike others who came after him with recommendation letters from politicians to film directors. His fans like me loved his last film right from 1966 to 2011.Changing times and trends were responsible for his films failing at box office after 1975.To his critics I would like to say he enjoyed God like status for so many years how many of you can even think of boasting the same for just One day.Personal Hysteria created by this Unique Legend nobody can ever match.Having said this what I felt the reason of his decline was his inability to maintain his boyish looks post ROTI days, too much drinking I guess. But hats off to him a great man still a source of income for so many people, through his movies, stories, music, may God give him forgiveness.

Not exactly post Roti days, but after Mehabooba, Anurodh, Karm Palko Ki Chaon main etc. and of course in a most comic cum most serious challenging role in Janta Hawaldar, he emerged with totally different outlook and style in films like Amar Deep in 1979 followed by Thosi si... Red Rose, Dhanwan, Dard, Babu, Shatru, MLA to name a few in entire 80s and gave most robust performances with great versatility in comparison to 1969-74 period. Moreover, in few multistar films of 80s he performed as central character and double roles in Kudrat, Dharam aur Kanoon, Rajput, Ashanti, Papi Pet ka sawal hain etc. with his unique screen presence. So I never found any down fall in Rajesh Khanna or his outstanding performance calibre. However, his films may hit or flop during 80s, but it is not a single case for him. Nobody in the world have given only hits and no flops till date. But irrespective of hits or flops Rajesh Khanna, the Golden Actor and The Original Superstar of India borns once in million times.

In a Solar system Rajesh Khanna was the Sun,others were planets around him, Dharamji is the planet earth, mother earth, loving, life sustaining, holy mom,as important as great as the sun itself. Amitabh Bachchan can be termed as an upgraded version of Rajendra Kumar (in terms of number of hit films)at the most which in itself is a very high regard.Rajesh and Dharamji were never scared of sharing screen presence with other big stars,If as some say Rajesh's super stardom lasted from 1969 to 1974 then Amitabh's lasted from Don 1978 to Namak Halal 1982,Period.Rajesh's films had more class, senstivity, depicted more culture, art, social values, Amitabh's films had action and drama only.Had Vinod Khanna not left the industry at his peak Amitabh's succes story would have been totally different.

Standard wise Kakaji is far far ahead rather matchless in the history of Indian cinema

All Rajesh Khanna movies are solo hero movies whereas Amitabh mostly had multistarrer hits. Only our Rajesh khanna had the power and charm to give us such movies.

There was no decline. He wanted to do certain types of films and did them. They were meant for a certain audience- naukri, Palkon ki, Anurodh, thodisi bewafaii etc. They were high on good values and music. No stunts and unnecessary tensions and hatreds . Indians wanted to egg on hatred in that phase.. so he came back with Amardeep n ashanti

So where is the decline in term commercial value of kakaji. All bogus statements.
